I got a CIB copy on eBay a few years ago for ~$30. My advice would be to keep your eyes peeled for auctions, you'll get a much better price that way.

I really miss the days when most games on eBay were being sold in auctions. Seems like now it's 90% ridiculously overpriced Buy-It-Nows.

Can I trade this for a Couple Tototek 64/32 Genesis Carts??

I've only ever seen the PS1 versions in the wild, in my town both Lunars go for $59.99 a pop, in Texas I saw Silver Star Story sell for $49.99.

I thought deeply about them, but that's too much to spend on just 2 games.

Game Gavel is out there, but the auctions on that site seem to base their pricing on ebay BIN rates. :(

That's what happens now that video games are more accepted and people keep thinking that just because it is old it HAS to be worth something. Both Lunar Games were great on the Sega CD, but they were not exactly limited print items or anything.

Lunar 2 had a relatively low production run on the Sega CD, which no doubt increased the price, but it's not exactly "rare" by any means - expect to pay nothing less than 50.00 for a boxed copy if you're lucky. Lunar 1, however is one of the more common Working Designs titles for the system, and can be had for around 30.00 like others have said. You just need to keep your eyes peeled and have the cash on hand to jump on a good auction. FWIW, I own both and have beaten them each a few times - they're worth every penny.

Sega CD Lunar 2 should be $50 in good condition. I wouldn't pay more. Lunar:TSS should be $30-50 ($50 is really pushing it).

I agree with all the number here for the most part.
Lunar: TSS should be about $30-$50, but can be more depending on the variant and if someone is collecting variants at that point.
Eternal Blue I'd put in the $40-60 range, just because it's a bit more uncommon.

In general the versions of Lunar:TSS are worth more if they are the versions with the foiled manuals, the ones printed without foiling are quite abundant.

That's if you find someone willing to pay fair market value for the game. I can almost guarantee you won't see that on eBay unless its disc only. Hell, even trading sites like this one price it up quite a bit whenever one does pop up.

If you wait long enough, that will be the price to buy at. :)

Very true words, patience is the key with everything. That's how I got my minty 7th disc variant at $25 shipped about a year ago.

I have yet to pick up any Lunar for SCD or even Playstation. I did buy it for PSP but I am not into the story as I thought I would be maybe ill give it a try again. Is the booklet and stuff really worth having or disc only be okay?

The Sega CD version, to me, has a certain charm that the subsequent versions didn't have for some reason. More than likely, it had to do with the fact that I first received and played these games when I was a teenager - so they grew up with me, in a sense. I enjoy the PS versions, but I'd rather play the Sega CD originals any day of the week. This is more geared for Lunar: TSS over Lunar: EB, as that game didn't change much in the upgrade. I started playing the PSP version, but I didn't make it past the first cut scene.

Disc only should be fine if you're just wanting to play it.

Mint CIB should not go over $75. But people will pay upwards of $150.

How far into the game are you? The intro, like a lot of RPGs, is kinda slow, but it picks up once the big early plot twist happens.

cib is complete in box.

This.

Though sometimes you'll see some tards using it to represent cart/instructions/box. That drives me bonkers every time.

Funny, the general consensus on NintendoAge is CIB = cart/instructions/box, anything else is thought up by tards. :p

That's pretty sad.

I'm curious what they think NIB and MIB stand for - since, with that logic, they couldn't possibly recognize them as "New in Box" and "Mint in Box"?

I've also not seen anyone say DIB for disc/instructions/box which would be a natural progression of that kind of tardness...

cib is complete in box. Which actually should include EVERYTHING (COMPLETE!) the game came with new. meaning promotional items, registration carts, baggies, dust covers etc where apliciable. Ive learned to have to ASK for these items though however, more often than not they do NOT include these extra items, while advertized as CIB.

Yeah, much like journalism, even collector terms as old as collecting itself is totally out of whack in the world of video games...

and thats why I love "garage sales" I got my copy of the silver star almost mint for 15 pesos! (like 1 dollar and 50 cents) it was in a box full of cds and dvds. aaa one of my happiest days of collector.

I saw this the other day when I was going through stuff, it looks like prices for the 7th variant have just skyrocketed!

One appears to have ended at about $100 a month ago, and then a second one looks like it just ended at over $200! Is the last variant really that in demand for most people?

SpaceFlea

Looks like it's time to sell three of my four copies of it then...

I knew I should've kept swipin' 'em up.

Originally, when people started to take notice of them (say... 10 years ago), they were selling for around $200. They plummeted quickly, and not too long ago were selling for no more than any other art. Hell, the last one I bought was a $50 BIN about a year ago. I almost sold one of mine a few months back for $70, but I'm glad I held on to it now that they've blown-up again. Oh, what a roller coaster ride this is...

Thank god I don't care about variants. I don't remember what I paid for my Lunar:SSS but EB was kind of A funny story.

Local game was charging $75 for the game, but I was mad at them for some shitty customer service regarding a Turbografx they had for sale but not really so I stole the empty case and manual that were on display and hit up eBay for a $25 disc only copy. Not my proudest moment, but they've long since gone out of business.

Eh, variants are the fun part about the Working Designs games. It took me a long time but I have managed to collect every disc variant for every one of their games released. I'm glad I got the Turbo games early though, they (along with Turbo stuff in general) seem just keep rising in price :(

I just paid €59 + shipping for a copy off a web store based in the netherlands. US NTSC version. Supposedly in very good condition but not mint. he graded it 4 out of 5. Ill see what shape it is once it gets here. I coincidently also picked up EB for €79. Both were boxed naturally, and the Silver Star variand was apparently the most rare? I dunno if they differ in price generally, but the store had several different variants priced the same so i looked up what is supposed to be the most rare and picked that. might play part if i ever decide to sell.

Edit: Ok the games arrived today and OF COURSE he had squeezed them into as small a box as he could find, so there were no buffer zones on the top and bottom edges = broken hinges... Hopefully he will stand by his sale and fix this.. We shall see..

Edit 2: New front case covers arrived, he did good.

So basically, €59 for my copy in good to very good condition.
