"Robotron" (Contra Hard Corps Hack)

Hey, guys.

I need some help with this hack I found of Contra: Hard Corps. It's called Robotron.

According to the text file, you can play as the robot version of each character. I already know and am able to play as robo-Ray (press down 4 times, as the text file says). However, I cannot get the robot version of the other 3 characters. I tried what the text file says, but it doesn't work.

Can anyone help?

The broken English in the readme file didn't help, but I think I've worked it out:

In 1p mode, pressing Down four times and selecting Ray enables you to play as the Robot counterpart of him; that's it. The other Robot versions are not selectable from the character select screen.

To play as the other Robot versions, though, whilst playing a 1p game, press START on the second controller and you can use Up to cycle through the normal Contra characters and Down to select which Probotector character you want. I'm guessing if you killed the first player, you could continue the game as the second player alone, but I've not tested it.

According to the site, the hack is still a Demo, so I'm guessing you should be able to select the other Probotectors in a later release via the character select screen, as of now, it's only possible through the second player.
