Is there a way of knowing a fake megadrive game to an original?

Its just that panorama cotton cart looks a little different than the other Jp titles i have.

I'm not sure, but the odds of getting a bootleg MegaDrive cart seem very low to me. Anyone else?

Unless you live in Hong Kong.

actually, i think there is a way..

most REAL game manufacturer prints the labels using "half-toning"..

a pirate uses a laserjet, inkjet, etc.. (though some can do half-toning)..

Sunsoft cartridges look different than most Mega Drive carts since they manufacture their own.

I have a few fake asian cartridges from back in the day. On the cover, they remove any sega branding nad logos and usually even the company names and logos. Print quality is on par with the real thing. On the cartridge sticker, again no sega logo or company logo. On the back of cartridge no imprinted writing. Maybe a crappy sticker. The case sometimes is of lesser quality plastic.

Why don't you take a picture of the cart, then upload it and share the link in this thread, that'll probably get you better answers and results. If you have a camera of course.

One good solution would be to open the cartridge.
If there is a glue chip inside, you can be 1000% sure it is a pirate cartridge.
If there is a normal rom chip, then please check if the PCB is sega branded, if there is no brand , maybe its pirate.

Simply upload the pic to - http://imageshack.us/, then give us the link it gives you once you've uploaded. Really simple and handy.

They look real. I think fake carts don't have "Gamebit"-screws like normal non-EA-carts. They have regular screws instead.

Except the box says "Sega" instead of "Sunsoft" around where the cart goes, so looks like someone swapped boxes.

My box says Sunsoft inside it. IIRC, Sunsoft made this game, not Sega. :)

It is as good on my Panasonic TV with RGB picture, promise! :)

na cant be as good or anywhere near as good as arcade!

Why would a game be better played on an arcade than on a regular TV?

Knuckles-chaotix
01-03-2007, 07:37 AM
because its a candy cab and it is a monitor image for gaming. hence why arcade machines always look better than any home job.
29 inches right up at ya face.look up egrett II.

I'll have to agree to disagree on this one. With RGB output, the games look exactly like they are meant to look. I'm glad we both enjoy what we have, and there seem to be nothing more to discuss since we aren't exactly living next door to each other and comparing is kind of difficult.
