Wow, so Milestone just announced that Karous (crow) is going to be released on the Japanese dreamcast in March. Amazing! This is hot on the heels of Trigger Heart Excelica due to come out in Febuary. 2007 is starting out to look very nice for the dreamcast indeed.

Play Asia is also already taking pre orders, have a look:

Amazing news! Anyone else excited about this? What do people think about the dreamcast still pumping out new games in 2007?

Is this officially licensed by Sega? If it comes from Japan, it probably is. I wish they'd make things other than overhead shooters.

yup, this is an official game. The big name home brew one coming out is "last hope," which I believe was delayed until January.

Yeah, it would be nice for other genres to be thrown a bone on the dc. Not too long ago, the new dynamite deka (dynamite cop) arcade game was tested in the public. I believe it's running on the naomi hardware, so a dc port isn't out of the question. Doesn't look like the best game, but hey, anything new on dc is fine with me.

(heck, there aren't even any dating sims or visual novels being published on there anymore, think Angel Present was the last one....)

2D shmups are nice, but I agree that Sega should try releasing some other genres, an RPG or something...

'Licensed by SEGA' is basically some underling saying to development company 'yeah ok you can make a game for our console', with assorted other twiddly bits. This isn't an internal SEGA effort.

That said, THE SOUL STILL BURNS

It'd matter more if I actually got around to modding my system, or buying another one already fixed.

It just warms my heart to see the Dreamcast hasn't totally flatlined yet.

That said, I too need to get cracking on an import-friendly DC.
