I've used 70% and 90% and everything works great!

if the contacts are really dirty, i like to dismantle them with my gamebit and rub away with an old tshirt and rubbing alcohol. taking the carts apart helps a lot and isn't a whole lot more trouble.

Does anyone know anything about the effectiveness of using windex instead of rubbing alcohol? I havd this one game that just wouldnt work (cleaned it 5 times with rubbing alcohol), took it back to where I bought it, and an employee just rubbed the contacts with some windex and now it starts up everytime.
Know anything about this method?

Sometimes I use WD-40 on the contacts (in small amounts!!). That works really great too :D

After I use alcohol to clean them, I use a dustcloth saturated with a little RID-OX from TECHSPRAY to coat the connectors to slow oxidation - I haven't had to reclean my carts in ages.....
Check the .PDF file out under the 2100 series coatings (2112 RID-OX) this stuff is fantastic!:

The more water it contains, the more it will suck.
