I´m not sure if anybody noticed, but Sega-16 has it´s own Wikipedia entry.
Take a look!

Short but glowing, just as it should be.

So you´re a real professor, Melf?
That is pretty cool....
Although Ken Horowitz doesn´t sound very Puerto Rican to me:)

It was actually I who added the entry. I searched for one but didn't find any, so I just wrote that and hoped someone else would make it better.

That article needs serious help. Methinks Melf would cringe at the sight of it, if he truly is an english professor.

That entry is funny because it's being flagged as website spam (having links to sites just for spamming) at the same time it's being flagged for not having any links at all.

GG Wiki!

The no links bit is for internal links.
Wikipedia is evil.

We have links in just about every Genesis-related article on Wikipedia, but none of them are on that entry page. :(

I just entried the page... The mission to make it good, I give to someone else :p.

I'd be any money Wikipedia (who are evil) will remove that page within the week. If a website isn't ranked in the top 20000 (with Alexia's toolbar) I don't think they consider it worthy to be in their encyclopedia.

Take a look at the 100 most popular pages on Wikipedia this year (http://tools.wikimedia.de/~leon/stats/wikicharts/index.php?lang=en&wiki=enwiki&ns=articles&limit=100&month=01%2F2007&mode=view) and try and tell me it's not basically a vast compendium of pop culture trivia. Are you really surprised?

It's because The Pirate Bay wants to buy it.

I bet it feels good to have your site on the mighty Wikipedia. Can anyone add stuff to it?

Yes, just hit the "edit this page" tab.

Awesome, once I work out how to use Wikipedia fully I'll add a little something if you don't mind.

I´ve added a bit of information to the Wikipedia-entry, mainly on the glorious membership of legendary 108 Stars in the community!

I tweaked the entire entry, mostly for spelling and such, and I think it's a good idea to have it there. It shouldn't be considered spam, since all of the links in it go to other Wikipedia entries, and I hope they don't delete it.

Just a warning, Melf. Wikipedia doesn't take well to people editing articles about something they're involved in as it's hard to keep a neutral point of view about yourself and information provided is often original research and not verifiable, so be sure to cite sources from reliable third party sources. You may also want to note appearances of the site in the media to help establish the notability of the site.

The page is deleted. Anybody know why?

Wikipedia rules aparently, they removed any entries that were specifically related to websites with no company association.

The SegaSaturn.co.uk entry was removed also.

So people can edit any article and put in whatever crap they want, but Wikipedia deletes references to legitimate websites? Brilliant.

This is why no one trusts Wikipedia.

They recently had an overhaul to fix alot of so called loner articles.

Pretty much, just link it to some random crap to give it credibility, then it may stay.

More or less I meant to say the categories on the bottom. It'll make it part of a bigger category (Video Game Websites/ Sites created in 2004 / Sega /etc)

We should recreate the entry as often as they delete it!:D

Zebbe
01-07-2008, 06:37 PM
Then they will put a lock on it to prevent recreation.

If we had that Sega-16 fighting game I'm sure we could have an entry for *THAT* on Wiki.
