Hi, I have a 1st generation USA Genesis.
It says "High definition graphics" on the cover and has an EXT port.
It has a SCN68000 processor.
The circuit board looks like this:

Is this that very early model that has no lockout and is incompatible with some games?

(I can't test it, I dont have the AV cables)

thanks,

oh hell yea, that's my dream Genesis right there, no lockout at all...

*though, if I had it, i'd remove the CPU for a better one*

I hear it's the most compatible, runs everything because of the lack of TMSS..

And yes, that is THE original one..

Hell, I got this one by accident. I sure as hell didn't want it. I wanted to overclock a Gen1, and I end up with this crappy processor. Im gettin rid of it as soon as I can.

but you can take that CPU out of it...

Thats possible, yes, but a Moto 68k costs more than an entire genny.

Ok..

Since that is my dream Genesis, and you don't want it, how much would you sell it for? (and i'll need to think about it too, cause I don't know if I can really buy another console right now)

Well I'm not ready to sell it yet, because before I let it leave my hands, I want to have another one up and running. Don't want to get caught with nothing.

Altho, I must say, dropping straight into the game with no Sega license screen is very cool.

it is very good.. Tell you what, if you ever come around Florida, I have a spare MC68000 lying around, I'll install it for you...
