Hey everyone,
I haven't had a Genesis since I was 10, and just recently dropped 40 bucks to pick up a packaged Genesis 3.
I just ordered "Rockman : MegaWorld", a Japanese game, and was wondering what I would need to play it on my Genesis.
Thanks in advance.
Game genie, and the right code for that game =)

As long as the cart itself isn't region locked, you might be able to cram it in to the cartridge slot of your Genesis 3 and play it as it is. I seem to recall that the Genesis 3's cart slot is shaped appropriately for Megadrive games to squeeze in comfortably. If not, you'll need a converter to fit between the game and the console, or even a region switch mod for your Genesis if such a Genesis mod exists.
..or yeah, ol' Game Genie.

I am trying to find an NCS Mega Key or Super Key, but I can't find one anywhere.
Game Genie is kind of my last resort because I have read that it doesn't have a long life as far as being used in this manner.
Does anyone know where I can find a Mega Key or Super Key? I think that I will need them. Even if the Genesis can take a MegaDrive game, this is a Japanese game.

Welp. that game is region locked. Modding Gen 3 is a royal pain, and finding info on how to do it is even more of a pain.
Game genie will work,
Rockman Megaworld (Mega Man: The Wily Wars JPN)
V2AT-BMEJ
EAAT-BL1T
REBT-A6XL
and there's your codes. But the game genie doesn't work on the Gen3 apparently... =(

is a good source for info on imports. If you can find a MegaKey/SuperKey, it'll do the import stuff for you.

Does anyone have an extra/unused Mega Key/SuperKey?

I read that the Gen3 will have absolutely no problem fitting the MD games in, but my problem is that the region lockout will make it so I cannot play it. I need any kind of converter that allows for region lockout bypass.

i have sold my magic key 3
3 days ago for 35 dollar !
Sorry :-)
Rockman Mega World is a Game with a Region Code !
you can say every game before 1992 is codefree
you can also say every Konami game is region protected
Pay Attention: they are many import adapter who will not work with the genesis 2 or 3 ! they have an other Bios like the genesis 1 !!!
if you will have an absolutly working adapter buy the magic key 3 he has 4 dip switches for every county ! (Japan(US/Brasil/PAL) but it's hard to find on ebay :-(
and costs a lot of bucks !
Why d'ont you get an mega drive 1 ? you can use every import adapter ! and the most japanese games
work if you open the slot a little bit more !
in my collection are just 3 japanese import games d'ont working on an normal mega drive version 1.
Maybee you can find someone who can build in a region switch thats the best deal for import games
good luck

I checked with the maker of the Super Key (NCS), and they said that it should work without incident. :D

ermmm... if I recall correctly the region switch for the genny3 is the easiest of them to do as its all in just two lil' jumpers. I highly doubt your gonna be using PAL games so just us the JP and US jumpers. Pop of the resistor that is there, Get yourself a two way tripole switch wire the 5v to the center pole, and then wire the top two to posts to the both the JP points and the bottom two posts to the US points.
BOOM YOUR DONE!
and here is an image of the genny3 taken apart to show you where to look for these points... curtousy of gamesx.com... NOT THAT HARD TO FIND!
