View Full Version : The Golden Axe in Sonic and Knuckles?

I've been playing Sonic and Knuckles today. What struck me today, unlike in other times when I've been playing, is that the axe used by the mini boss in the first zone looks a LOT like the Golden Axe from Golden Axe.

Does anyone else see this similarity too? Or am I just insane? :p

That'd be cool if it was on purpose, but I think it's just a normal lumber jack axe.

There are probably aren't that many ways you can draw an axe.
Besides, the axe in the original Golden Axe is green.

...Which defeats the point of the games name. We should be playing 'Green Axe' in that case. :p

Maybe it was just a copper axe that turned green over time. :D

That is pleasing to hear, although it doesn't explain why it's green in the Mega Drive version. They managed it ok in the sequels.

It may be a good idea to not do anything with your axe for a while, see if maybe it blows over. Evil will still be there when you decide to get your axe back out.
