Why is the bidding going so high on this system??? Is the box that rare?
The games seem pretty common

The highest bidder at the moment is some buyer who is snapping up heaps of systems at the moment and is paying ridiculously high prices for all the auctions he/she is winning.

It's in mint condition, which always boosts the price. Maybe the games are rare, maybe he/she is trying to over-inflate the market so they eventually make a profit, maybe he/she has a Sega-CD fetish. Why don't you ask them?

Ummm yeah okay....but the seller's got nothing to do with the over inflated price. Thats just the few bidders who are going crazy on the bidding. So nothing to do with the seller trying to over-inflate or make profit. Initial price was more than reasonable. Lets stick with productive comments please.

The only way it would be that much is if a copy of Snatcher and some cheap titles were in the mix for something like that. The Action Set box with Tomcat Alley is not extremely rare, but not worth that much. Heart of the Alien usually goes for $30 and the others are fairly low priced except for maybe Power Monger. That is not worth $300, but more like $150 at the most.

A boxed system isn't THAT rare... it's either shill bidding, or some idiots who REALLY want the system.

that is just crazy to pay that amount, a boxed model 2 is really not that hard to find. a boxed model 1 is much much harder to find then a boxed model 2 anyday.

$300 US - thats $370 Australian dollars!

Crazy!!!

Maybe I should list my boxed cd systems and message the bidder (idybid) that Im selling! lol I'll be able to buy a PS3 in no time.

I wanted to bid on a few other systems going on ebay at the moment but the bidder is bidding on those items too. No way im gonna bid on them now.

What a ripoff....

It doesn't even include Tomcat Alley!

Maybe the price is so high because it DOESN'T include Tomcat Alley. I think empty space is worth more than that game.

Put "Afterburner 3" in its place or something.

I guess the old saying is true...

"a fool and his money are soon parted"

and there are plenty of fools on ebay :D

I saw a sega cd genesis system on ebay today that was at over $400. It had some pretty good games with it but nothing that could possibly warrant that kind of price.

here it is

Night Trap, well the origninal version is NOT very rare... a large number shipped out, but people really want it for some reason. General Chaos isn't too pricey, and Vectorman and Comix Zone are common as peanuts.

Earthworm Jim on the Sega CD is uncommon, and Shanghai 2 is kind of uncommon aswell, but I've seen more mint copies than crap condition ones. Toe Jam and Earl, I'm not really too sure on, to be honest... I never really looked into it.

In the end, that bundle ain't worth much more than $100 before shipping.

thats a crazy price for both of those considering I just saw a few boxed sega cd model 2's end a week ago for $59. and a model 1 sega cd with genisis 1 and 32x combo ended for $26 in that same week. so the deals are still out there, its just a matter of if people want to look or not.

Tbh, I'd love to see a Mega CD / Megadrive / 32x combo (fully boxed) and maybe some rare games in there.

Wonder how much that'd go for!

BTW, I really think "Sega CD" looks tacky compared to how the Mega-CD is written on. - maybe that's just me
