I was playing the Sherlock Holmes game, and noticed that on the SCD1, the green READY light wasn't lit.. So, I reset the system, and the light came back on.. And noticed that when the game boots (after the SCD BIOS license screen), the READY light turns off..
It does NOT do this to any other game... I also noticed this happens in emulators too! (emu's with the light status)..
Why does it turn off? I noticed in that game, the ACCESS light is ALWAYS flashing.. Same in emulators too..

Sure, its because the light is controlled by software ;)
If the game decide to make it blink or anything else, he can do :)
It was not recommended by sega but used for game development (to debug)... maybe they forgot to remove the debug code

My ready light stays on when I play Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective (volume 1). It'll blink if the CD spins down, but that''s it. But then again my Sega CD 1 is better than yours as well as the emulators.

You should have specified that so I didn't have to run down and try mine! Now my Sega CD is angry for being awakened unnecessarily.

lol :P mines taking a quick nap, before i play Earthworm Jim SE again.. The intro is funny, but the pelvic thrust is unnecessary..
anyways, good to know the LED weirdness is just a software thing...

Maybe it is flashing Satanic messages in Morse Code?

The TurboGrafx-16 CD versions are better, as they have nearly 8 colors on the screen at once!
