I have a contest idea!!!

It would deal with fighting games.

OK, entrants must make a movie that deals with a fighting game or beat em up on the Genesis

I like the prospect, but a few things worry me:

- How would we be able to authenticate that the winner's video is authentic, and not taken off some site?

- How big a file would it be? I'm on a friend's server, and don't want to eat up valuable space with a 30 meg video that could be used for reviews and articles. If it were a short vid, like 5-8 megs, that'd be cool.

My biggest concern is authenticity. I'm sure a lot of awesome fighters are out there, and this would really bring in some hits for the site. If we can work around that, this would be a great idea.

Opinions anyone?

Sheesh... Sounds very hard--I'm not sure that you'd get very many entries at all.

It would have to be a short movie, 5-10 minutes or less, and to make sure if it is authentic, the entrant would have to mail the tape (or if you dont have a video camera, the tape and the camera) to you, then you can do whatever thing you do to post movies on the site

Do you mean video clips of yourself slaughtering your foe on a game or something else? I'm still not sure what types of videos you mean.

As you can see Knight mine would be a parody of SoR because this flick takes place in a boring suburban area, but is reminding people the greatness of SoR.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this one. I mean, I don't own or even have access to a video camera. I'ts an interesting concept, but just not sure how well it would fly here. There's also the problem of bandwidth. I'm in an area where there's no broadband yet and dialup is just so poky.

Actually the sad truth is that I really only have one friend and he's not into games and doesn't have a camera. Could check around at work though, but it'd be tough for me to get people to participate in my movie.

Sounds interesting. Should be about 90 seconds though, If I remember right, rounds in fighting games are about that long.

We could always compress the video's to divx that should make them small enough no?

I know my el cheapo digital camera takes video in quicktime for short spurts no audio.

I wish I had a video camera. I'd totally enter this with an avante-garde film. I'd star as a private-I investigating a mysterious Sheng Long sighting. It would be filmed in black and white and everyone would talk in '40s slang.

Its a very good idea,very fun.sore that im a bit to shy for that i think,maybe not maybe if i start i lett the loose the devil inside,dont know maybe ill try it i have a cam i have a few friends that are kinda in that stuff,some friends of my are really nutzz they were doing a gay alike backstreet movie,a laught myself almost to dead. i did a metallica movie ones with my friends to just lett the devil loose since the music is into that at least the singer.its a very fun idea Strida you have to see the movie of prince of persia 3 one,s its way fun,maybe i can post it one time or link the site.Thanx for mentioning that idea.BTW vorty stick with a other toppic if you think its sucks ,youre the one who is giving everything with 32x a 3 or 4.noh just kidding no offens. :D
