There's this one GIF I want to use in a wallpaper I'm trying to make, but I don't know if it's fan-made graphics or not, and I'm tearing my hair out just trying to find the site I got it from! How do you remember where you got a certain image or file from?

I'm usually just really good at remembering it. No special technique or anything of the sort...I just remember.

But if I do forget, I don't sweat over it. I usually don't care anyway.

If you happen to run on Mac OS 9 it tells you when you select GET INFO for the file. I think is OS X you can turn that on as well. I doubt Windows is capable of doing that since it doesn't have Blast Processing™ like the Mac does.

it's a Mac thing...

the HFS partition has both resource data, and a resource fork.. The data is just that, the data, but the resource fork tells the operating system what the file is, where it came from, etc.. Windows computers don't have this...

this is why Macs don't even need a file extension ;) where ALL windows computers do..
