Any suggestions on what to use when removing gunk/stickers from a cartridge?

I use GOOP. It's cheap, and works like a charm. You can pick up some at Wal-Mart or any hardware store for less than $2.

Melf, does this zany GOOP work decently for removing sticker glue from cartridge labels?

If you are desperate, you'd be surprised how well normal 90+% isopropyl alcohol works. I've even used it to remove permanent marker off 32X boxes. If carefully done (as to not remove the box art), it will remove black marker.

I've always been reluctant about wetting cart labels or cardboard boxes with any kind of liquid, but I don't doubt the magic of isopropyl. I'll have to try that next time I'm on a game maintenence bender.

I use it to remove sticker glue from boxes, inserts, manual covers, and cart labels. As long as you don't soak the box, etc in it, you should have no trouble. I just spread a little on, wait about 3 minutes, then gently rub off. Works great.

I use Goo gone, and/or isopropyl. I've never diluted it, because I've had no problems with it.

I tried Goop like Melf said but it wasn't very good and required me to leave it on for awhile for some stickers while slightly damaging the label on my Haunting cart. I tried Goo Gone and it damaged the label on my Arcus Odyssey cart. :(

But I've now found the PERFECT product: UN-DU Adhesive Remover!

This thing is awesome! It's made specifically to remove stickers and gunk from anything without damaging the main material. You can soak a cart label, insert, manual in it when cleaning them and it does NOTHING to damage/darken them. What it does is make stickers and adhesive gunk lose it's stickiness while wet and once it dries it's stickiness returns. Thus allowing you to reuse stickers, tape, labels, etc. over and over again. You can use it on paper, glass, plastic, vinyl, wood, metal, rubber, carpet, clothing, etc. I literally scrapped several stickers off of a cart label and it didn't damage the label at all, and once the stuff dried the label was just as before.

It cost me $2.00 for a 4 oz bottle at Wal-Mart. You guys HAVE to check this out: http://www.un-du.com

How ironic...I've messed up an Arcus Odyssey label and a PRECIOUS CRUSADER OF CENTY label by using WD-40. Arcus was bad enough, but messing up Centy just about killed me.

Dang it.

Use Un-Du. I bought Tecmo Super Bowl & SW RA today and both cases had stickers. I just used Un-Du to soak & scrape them off and the cases look much better now with no sticky residue or any kind of marking that a sticker used to be there.

I've been told that butane works but I've never actually tried it.

Good ol' Rubbing Alcohol usually works great for me without ruining labels... I heat it up just a little (not a lot cause it evaporates real quick) so that way it evaporates faster and doesn't sit long on anything underneath it.

If you are using it on something that what is under the label can take some abuse (like sticker glue right on the plastic of the cart) I use Terpentine or Paint thinner... shit eats anything paper or gluey. If it can totally destroy a Rembrandt I think it will remove just about anything.

I tied some un-du and it works fairly well. At the wal-mart near me it costs $5.00 though.
