Are there any good Sega CD PCM tracks worth listening to? I just got Sonic CD and these are the best I've heard so far...

I think Sonic CD is the only game that uses PCM exclusively for certain music tracks. Others like Popful Mail sound great, but only use the PCM for drums and stuff while the Sega Genesis does the rest of the music.

I like the Mega-CD system theme: hearing it remixed with a full strings section would be nice.

Oh yeah, the Japanese Mega CD theme (not sure what's used in the Brit version) is all PCM. The US BIOS has Genesis music and PCM drums instead... with extremely poor composition!

Got Silpheed and it has some PCM tracks...I've included the PCM version of Stage 1 as well as the CD version so you can compare (the PCM version holds up pretty well.) Stage 6 doesnt have a CD equivalent.

What did the Lunar games use? Because they had amazing music(TSS' was playable on the CD, no less).

Silver Star had redbook audio (ie: CD music). Eternal Blue has streamed PCM.

Does Eternal Blue have good music?

Yes, I thought so. But it wasn't constructed as normal chip tunes are (like Sonic CD was). Instead it's streamed, like voices and sound in FMV games... not actually assembled and played from a MIDI-type of file. It's like CD music, only less quality.

I'll see it I can get it then...if it's fairly cheap.
