Wouldn't it be cool, if Snatcher was released as a movie, complete with ALL original characters, original storyline, and original music? (including the Sega CD intro music)
I was thinking about this, and thought, it would be pretty sweet if this was turned into a movie..
I mean, couldn't you imagine seeing some of the freaky stuff, like when the dog was thrown through the window in one scene of the game, on a movie? seeing that on the big screen could creep out some unsuspecting viewers..
EDIT: And for those that like the Sega CD intro song, here's an edit from me. I performed this one, trying to match the original. Most instruments are real, some are synthesized. You can obviously tell the synthesized sounds... (drums are computer, from GarageBand, along with any other synthed sounds)

(the only reason im good with music is because my father used to be in a band, and i sorta picked up on the traits, and can mimick music.. And no, that's not my final rendition of the song.. some instruments are too loud, and some are too quiet. I never balanced them out yet.. but if you guys like it, i'll keep them this way.. I ask that, because I'm currently making a Video Game Music Collection CD, with some popular game music)

Yea I think that would be sweet except I don't know if most people will simply disregard it as a Terminator rip off. I know its quite different than any Terminator movie but I just know a lot of people will hear about humanoid looking robots that wear living skin tissue over their metallic frames just like a Terminator and call it a rip off right there.
Then again with all the BS movies out nowadays I don't know if people will even care about that.

No, definitely not a Terminator rip-off. It will be a Blade Runner/Terminator rip-off (featuring one character totally stolen from Dune)

Im not sure about a live action movie but I don't think an anime would be a bad idea. Though there was that photoshopped movie poster floating around a few years ago from made from Dune, Terminator and, Blade Runner

Blade Runner is overrated.
It's probably only good if you're a film buff and enjoy films on levels most people don't care about.

Blade Runner is amazing and worth a watch though it is very dark which gives it a sort of tiring feel after awhile. I have to be in the right type of mode to sit through it.

Blade Runner is overrated.
Agreed. I saw it once. I think it was on LaserDisc and I have no clue which version it was. I know there are at least 2 or 3 different cuts/versions of the movies with and without narration and I have no clue which is the "right" one and no desire to find out. The first thing I remember is a robot chick sitting down and smoking a cigarette. That right there was probably the most retarded thing I had ever seen. Smoking is retarded enough as it is, but robots smoking? C'mon! The only other thing I remember is thinking that it was overrated. All of the awesomeness that everyone guarantees never arrived.

Not to be a smart ass but they are not quite robots. They are basically engineered people. Just some are made smarter then others . She didn't know she was a Replicant.

im a little def in my right ear, so please tell me if something sounds off-balance, or louder than it should.. thanks!
a better question would be also, is it even loud? I'm not getting it loud, but garageband was showing red lining...

Do you mean the original characters, or original characters?
Anyway, surely videogame movies are pointless: if you take away the controller and interactivity, where's the fun?

Oh, you call everything overrated. Don't make me stick a frowny face on your posting profile. >:[

Well I think it could be good because it has an awesome story line, intriguing characters, great plot twists, etc etc, (Basically everything missing from a good percentage of movies today). And Snatcher isn't exactly the most interactive game out there anyways its mostly select-an-option with the exception of a few brief shooting scenes...

Most things are overrated.
A sci-fi film that isn't overrated is the Forbidden Planet. Pure awesome 1950's awesomeness, which is awesome. Blade Runner is a good film, just not deserved of the hype it generates.

Personally, I'd rather see an anime OVA and I don't normally like anime, but to fit the format of 'film-like' environment that Snatcher encompasses, it does require not a live action viewpoint. Sometimes, it is better for cyberpunk to suit the format of anime better than it is for a movie. We have enough Blade Runner/Terminator knock offs, and nowhere near enough cyberpunk animes WITHOUT mecha, now do we? I think Snatcher will eventually become an anime/movie anyways, since the fact that Kojima did announce that Project S will be the first in a 'series of works' based around the Snatcher franchise. So expect a new games, anime, radio drama (all that is confirmed so far to be a precursor to the events in the first game) among other things. The imagination boggles what exactly is meant by 'series of works'.
It excites, as well.

It's a very cool track. Placing the snare completely in the left channel is a bit weird, and the volume you had the snare at in the first mix had it meshing better. The electrifying lead synth at around 2:10 is perhaps a touch loud, but it grabs the attention better. The mix overall sounds really good, though - more cohesive than the first version you posted. The bass intro is superior without the higher octave layered on top. I'd definitely be interested to hear anything else you've done as far as your video game music compilation is concerned.
