I've heard people say that he is leaving, and people saying that it's a hoax, but can't find any real evidence for either. :?

So which is it? It would suck if he really was leaving. :(

It's not true, without Till it just isn't Rammstein.

Yeah, I did hear it confirmed that he wasn't leaving but couldn't be bothered to post it.

But Rammstein without Till is like NIN without Trent, it just wouldn't exist.

I´m ashamed that this stupid band is from my country.

Haha, you hate them that much?

I do. I truly cannot understand that this is called music. I guess I´m too old fashioned. :)

Well, everyone has different tastes. :)

Maybe it helps that I can't understand a word of it. :p

Yeah I don't understand any of it either.

But I know it would sound 100x goofier if any of it was translated into English.

Or maybe 108 Stars is ashamed that German isn't that sexy of a language. ;)

They actually did some of their songs in English, it just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I actually love Rammstein, and I don't know why 108 Stars is ashamed of them, they are one of, if not the, most successful German speaking bands of all time.

I think German is indeed a sexy language. It´s old and has grown through ages, and it has great (but complicated) poetry-possibilities. It sounds more male than French or English.
The advantage of English is it´s simplicity: No other language is nearly as easy to learn, so it´s perfect for international conversation.

But really, just because they´re successfull doesn´t mean I have to agree Rammstein is actually good; their shouting is just not singing in any way, and their disharmonic raping of instruments bears no enjoyable melody for me. It is just noise for my ears.

Sadly, German music has a long history of bad quality Schlager-stuff; but in the last years more and more rock and pop music in German language has come up, making it more enjoyable.

OH 108 despite your disliking of them for what genre they are, they are a pile of rubbish within it too, I am a complete rock fan and into all of what you deem "roaring and shouting" or "noise". You probably like quality/classical/mellow listening.

But regardless of your preferences I can assure you Rammstein are rubbish anyway.

And I know how to speak a little German and these guys have the most gawdawful lyrics ever, they're like nursery rthymes bloody pathetic stuff.

About half their songs have a lamo "1,2,1,2,3,4 GO!"

Or Eins,Zview, Eins, Zview etc etc

Then there is the basic, Chorus' one pathetic one is "Mutter" over and over again, I love my Mommy big wow.

Or "Free Fire" over and over again, along with the mindless "BANG BANG" Hilarious stuff really,

Anyway sorry Man-Fish for dissing them so much but I couldn't help myself

Ah well, to each their own

I actually love Rammstein, especially Till, their music is always exciting and the stage shows are just amazing.

Something that got these two arrested (note: no, it's not real.)

It sounds more male than French...

Anything sounds more male than French.

Even Japanese women doing their best 10 yr girl impression sounds more male than French.

Wow, I forgot about this thread.

I'm kind of surprised that most of the people posting here hate them so much. :?

I thought most people regarded English as the #2 most difficult language behind Mandarin Chinese.

Can't believe how gay that stage performance is.

The only thing I can say about English vs. Spanish is that you don't have to worry about the sex of objects.

Genesis Knight

Agreed. I don't want to have to think about whether a building block is a boy or a girl.

Yeah. The female sex organ is actually a "boy" word in Spanish (el -o). Weird.

Ahh...the blessing a non-Latin based language gives us, gender neutral objects!

Are objects "male" and "female" in Italian and French as well?

Man-Fish
09-04-2007, 12:50 PM
Yeah, you do get word gender in French, probably Italian too (though I don't know any Italian ).

I always thought it was funny how all the words to do with the kitchen and housework and stuff were feminine (yup, sexism in language). :p

Yeah. The female sex organ is actually a "boy" word in Spanish (el -o). Weird.

What is this word?

I also found out that not all objects dealing with the kitchen are female. "Refrigerator" and "plates" are both male.

I know this because I had my GF ask her co-worker who is from Peru. Who better to ask than someone whose native tongue is Espanol?

Haha, that bad thing is that I can't actually remember the words for "plates" and "refrigerator" which shows hows much French I know (very little). :p

Rusty Venture

I did find quite a few "male" words to describe certain female body parts.

Odd.

El Coņo. I asked a chilean guy in my class why it wasn't "la coņa" and he didn't know.

That is not in my recently discovered naughty Spanish book.

but "Mierda" is.

I think it's great how a topic about rumours that the singer was going to leave Rammstein turned into a conversation about rude words in Spanish. :)
