*sigh* Why does EVERY single game based on Back To The Future SUCK ASS????

Okay, Back To The Future is one of the greatest film trilogies ever. Especially the first two films are great. But why has EVERY SINGLE GAME MADE ABOUT IT COMPLETELY SUCK? There's the NES game, which I'm sure all of us know about. But today, I tried "Back To The Future Part II" for the Sega Master System, and Back To The Future for the MSX.

Now, the MSX game I was expecting to be bad, but the Master System game I was thinking "Maybe this won't be too bad", but the first time I played it, I wound up getting killed in 10 seconds or less. I was like, okay, don't judge it right off the bat. Maybe it just takes a while to master, and I decided to give it some chances, but IT'S SO FRUSTRATING! HOW THE HELL DO YOU PLAY THIS????!!!! Anyway, the BTTF game for the MSX just further proves what a piece of shit the MSX was (That's probably why the MSX was never released in North America! All the big retailers were like "This thing is a piece of shit! We're not selling this garbage!"). It's by a company called Pony Canyon, and it's a side scroller where I don't know what to do other than just jump on these blue and red guys. I guess they're members of Biff's gang, but they look more like cops. And all I hear in the game is some MSX rendition of "Johnny B. Goode". Even the NES game wasn't as frustrating as these two pieces of crap! I mean, don't get me wrong, the NES game is still bad, but even that had a higher replay value than these atrocities! Why does every single game based on Back To The Future completely suck????? Well, I heard the one on the Super Famicom was pretty good, but I didn't play that, so I can't really give an honest opinion on that one.

My guess would be because the story was written for a movie and not for a videogame adaptation. How good can a videogame based on that storyline be?

Ehh, good point, but I still think the time travel aspect could have been handled more gracefully than it ever was with the licensed Back To The Future abortions the gaming world was presented with. At least it wasn't a driving game where Level 1 has you racing against the Libyans' van, Level 2 against Biff's 1946 Ford, Level 3 being a bonus stage on a hoverboard, etc. etc..

The remember conning an elementary school acquaintance into trading me a more desirable NES game for my copy of Back To The Future II & III (yes, that's one game), and I ended up after at least one other trade with the super sweet M.U.L.E. for NES. That's about the only positive memory I have of Back To The Future II & III. Everything else was pure heartbreak.

"Super BTTF 2" was the only one that was worth a damn.

I'm pretty no programming was done on the other games and they instead took a dump in every cartridge.

The movies don't lend themselves to video games and the limited imagination of the *ahem* "programmers".

Well it might have to do with the time period... lots of movie based games were VERY hit or miss (and in most cases miss) during that era...

While is does seem that a decent game could be created with the story line.. it was proabbaly just a case of get the liscense and make a game for quick cash... (since the movies were rathe rpopular)...

Super Back To The Future II for the super nes was a great game its the best Back To The Future game

Back To The Future III for the genesis was ok it was a lot better then the nes Back To The Future games allso better then the SMS Back To The Future game

I wouldn't call SBTTFII on SFC "great" myself but it was pretty decent and I quite enjoyed it. The music rendition was AWESOME. Interestingly enough, GameFan RIPPED it but I've met more fans than critics on the internet of this kooky little action title.

sorry it's not the best quality there, yes, 12%! OUCH! I think that might be the lowest rating they ever gave, coz Lord knows they gave out 80's and 90's like free condiments :p
