How do you land in Wing Commander?

Alright, so I looked at the manual (For an SCD game, that manual is friggin' HUGE! 64 pages!), it said to radio some dude on the claw. I got that part down, then it says to look for a light gray landing area, but which part of the ship is it????? And how do you land on there when you find it? I wanna like this game. I really do. It's supposed to be a legendary game, and I wanna like it, but I wanna know how the hell I do certain things! BTW, General Halcyon sounds like Cam Clarke. Did he do his voice in this version of the game?

Can't say I know offhand, but for what it's worth, the answer can definitely be gotten at http://www.wcnews.com. Their forums if all else fails.

I forgot this had a SCD version... I should track down a copy.

And yes, it's an awesome game, but the third and fourth(PC/PS1[eh]) are the best.

I played the crap out of that game back in the day. You just request to land and get close enough to it and it does it automatically. I think it is near the back of Tigersclaw. Though I haven't played in about 14 years.
