Sega-16 loves its games; that's a fact no one will deny. Heck, we'll even play the stinkers, just so we can spread the word about how bad they are! That's why our Reader Roundtable feature is so popular. There's nothing like seeing what your fellow gamers are playing, even when the games suck! This month's installment is pretty balanced though, so why not check it out (http://www.sega-16.com/2007/07/reader-roundtable-vol-20/) and have some fun? Enjoy!

Nice read about the 32x-rent story. Shame Chaotix is so expensive in PAL format.

I completely disagree about Golden axe though. All games are still fun today, the XBLA version proves it. And by any chance, I think part 3 is by far the best of the series. It might have some dodgy backgrounds, but the gameplay is by far the deepest (and the game is the longest).

Worth reading for the golden axe 3 review alone, beautifully put, I will now lower this game in my preference list,

I especially enjoyed the Golden Axe part; it´s so damn true!
While I must say that Space Harrier and Afterburner have aged just as horribly too.

That Golden Axe III entry must be the best RR submission ever, it was hilarious :D.

Nice read.. I agree about Fire Shark feeling like an 8-bit game but somehow it makes you want to play it over and over. Some tunes in it are actually decent though, once you get used to the poor audio quality.

I have to say that I think Earthworm Jim 2 is a bit overrated though.. Even though I can appreciate the innovative and somewhat funny gameplay elements, some of them are really just tedious to play once the novelty is gone.
I'm talking about the airplane level and the time bomb cow level specifically.
Also the mini-game will make you sigh by the third of fourth time you're forced to play it.

I agree with Alianger on EWJ2. I think the game is higly overrated. Just what you said - most of it is tedious when the novelty has faded. I also don't like that Jim has a nerdy look instead of the more 'superhero' he was in the first part. Overall, I think part 1 is way better, but also a lot harder than EWJ2.

Once again I only own two of those games. Earthworm Jim 2 was a pretty unquie game, however, I can image it does get dull once the novelty has worn off. I always get number one and two confused.

I don't know guys some of ye seem to have different philosiphies about gaming than me, sure fair enough ej2 might lose its shine after 4 or 5 runs, but how many times do you want to finish a game? Personally considering some of the junk in my collection if I play past the second level its deemed good!

Very true.
