PAL Turbografx

So im thinking about buying one of the European released Turbografx. Anyone know if it will play US or Jap Hucards straght from the box? Or do I need a converter? Will it be affected by the US games region locking?

As far as I know it should play American games. Though information on it is a bit hard to find. I have read that is basically identical to the American model with a few changes for pal.

Yep it will play US games, you need a converter to play Japanese (PC engine) games. The adaptors are rare and pretty expensive - £30 or so.

From everything I have read it plays US HuCards just fine, but not Japanese. You may want to ask over on the pcenginefx.com forums.

So what would a mint boxed copy go for? the unit is till in its plastic wrapping. Also, it includes something called a Turbografx Accessories box. The box is almost the same site as that of the main unit itself. Whats that?

The accessory thing is an AV converter that gives you better video output for your TV over the standard RF. Theres still lots of new consoles around, because they were never really sold properly at the time. You should be able to get one for around £40 to £50 new, perhaps less.
