View Full Version : Theme Park
It may be time to head back to school, but you can still have some fun on your favorite rides and attractions in Bullfrog's Theme Park- or maybe not. Released for every console this side of the Game.Con, it does its best to mimic its more powerful siblings, but sadly falls short in the process, kind of like Euro Disney. Read the review (http://www.sega-16.com/Theme%20Park%20review.htm) and see how bad it gets.

Is this the same game as the EA Games' "Sim Coaster"? When you look at the code, SC is called "Theme Park", so I'm just wondering. The timelines seem a bit off, though.

Don't diss Euro-Disney. Robots that speak French rule.

No, it's not the same thing as Sim Coaster, though it is similar. Theme Park was the original.
The Saturn port is good.
This game looks like crap it got a 4 and Captain America a 2. It doesn't seem fair.

Wasn't there a Mega CD port of Theme Park released in Europe?

Captain America DESERVED a 2. Stop crying about it, baby.
C'mon Vorty, there's no need to attack him. Everyone has their own opinion about the game. I personally think it should have scored somewhere around a 6.

I remember me and my friends being addicted to theme park for some time. It was like a smaller scale sim city and it was fun to watch. I never did manage to beat the second level because I'm not really good at this type of game (Except for Deadlock on the PC, Deadlock rules) but I've played the first one at least a million times and had fun doing it. Granted it's not as cool as I remember it from playing it as a kid.

I've only played the playstation version. But that might have been a different game because I think it was called theme park world. But I enjoyed it none the less. I've seen this game for £3 in my local game store so I might look into it just to see.

Theme Hospital is better than Theme Park.

Just curious, does the Mega Mouse or whatever it's called work with Theme Park? I have that for PC and I remember it being a bitch to control on Genesis.

Don't agree at all with the score. It has its flaws, but it's a very addictive game.

Hey Stu, I read your other post. Okay, say you have a horizontal piece that you now want to go south. Hold the A button (the one that lays track) on said horizontal piece. Now, press left or right, still holding the A button. This will lay another horizontal piece. Now, still holding the a button, press down. You will now have a vertical piece that connects. In other words, the pieces will switch shapes automatically and you need two pieces long in order to make a switch. That's why you can't simply press down on just that one piece and have them connect.

Oh man I lost many hours of sleep playing this game on the sega channel. It's no RCT but as far as I know it was one of the first games to actually let you design a theme park. Besides, where else can you set the price of a game to 999 and the prize value at 400 with a 75% chance of winning. The AI is so dumb you actually can profit while they win.
The genesis port is really shitty though. I prefer the PC or playstation version.

I rented it and i think the only enjoyment i ever got out of it was making walkways with pits in them so guests would get stuck. I prefer the PC version of RCT, but i guess for the time this would have done.
