Is this game good? Is it worth getting? Opinions are appreciated. I know it's a pinball type game but different.

It is decent, and is a sort of unofficial sequel to Devil's Crush. I preferred it over all the other pinball offerings on the Genesis, including Sonic Spinball and Motley Crueball.

But it doesn't even hold a candle to Devil's Crush on the Turbografx, which is barely... arguably the king of all videopinball . If you have any NEC hardware, I would suggest finding this game first and don't bother with Dragon's Fury.

Actually, Dragon's Fury is a port of Devil's Crush for the TurboGrafx - Dragon's Revenge is the Tengen-made unnoficial sequel with bungled ball physics and sloppy table design. Fang, if you have the opportunity to buy Dragon's Fury, I recommend it. It's a good port of Devil's Crush, which is the supreme video pinball experience.

Thanks for your expert opinions. Drixxel you are convincing me to get it hehe.

Wow... I knew there was a second pinball game; totally forgot Dragon's Fury was a port. I guess the one I was talking about was the bungled Tengen-made sequel.

I'm always mixing up the titles of the two games.. when I first saw this thread I couldn't remember if Fury was the Devil's Crush port or if it was that other zany one. But yeah.. Dragon's Fury. While it's not exact to Devil's Crush on the ol' TurboGrafx, I'd say it's still the best pinball game on Genesis. There is a notable drop in colour and the playfield itself is squished to accomodate a score bar on the right side of the screen, but there are cool new bonus stages for this version and because of the way the ball behaves in the Genesis port one has to play the game differently than it's TG-16 cousin. Overall.. damn fine pinball game, and a fairly well-done port. Dragon's Revenge is worth a look too, but it's nowhere near the tightness of Fury. The ball is so bouncy it almost doesn't feel like pinball to me, but it's still a fun enough game on its own.

Dragon's Fury is sort of by Tengen. Originally by Naxat and Red in 1990, with the 1992 Genesis port handled by Technosoft with Tengen presumably publishing it. I guess Tengen felt like they were hot shit after pumping out this stellar pinball game with which they had little involvement and decided to try making their own from scratch a year later.

Ohhh, I don't deny the coolness of Tengen. The time I've wasted with NES Gauntlet is embarrassing. Dragon's Revenge, though.. Tengen made some weird decisions with Dragon's Revenge.

I finally got Dragon's Fury. It is a good pinball game the movement of the ball feels right. Like Drixxel said the game does lack more color. Is it just one level and find bonus rooms or how do you advance?

There's the three sections of the main table (top, middle, bottom), and then a multitude of bonus stages accessible through many a crazy manner. The game will eventually end once you reach an outrageous enough score, and you're treated to a quaint little cut scene that I shall not reveal (at least, this is how it works with TurboGrafx Devil's Crush).

I LOVE PINBALL! I gotta get Dragon's Fury, Dragon's Revenge, Dino Land & Sonic Spinball.

So how do you get passwords in the game? I've been playing it but I haven't gotten one yet. What do I have to do because I'm far from getting that high score to finish the game. This game is great.

Fang, to get a password, pause the game at any time and press A.

And it's good to hear you're digging the game. Devil's Crush/Dragon's Fury is truly awesome.

Thanks Drixxel. My game didn't come with any manual so I wouldn't of known that. It is awesome and a lot of fun. Pinball games are hard to put down.

Haha, for the longest time I as well had no idea how to get a password, even though I have the manual for my copy of TG-16 Devil's Crush. Then I stumbled upon it one day and felt pretty stupid, seeing as the answer could have been mine long, long ago had I just read the bloody manual. But yeah.. I recommend trying out Devil's Crush for the TurboGrafx if you can, if only to see the differences between it and Dragon's Fury. There are some good TG-16 emulators out there that will run the game up to speed, and roms.. well, roms are very much available.

Does anyone know if you have to beat all bonus stages in one sitting to see the game ending? When I save a password after beating a bonus stage, I still have to beat that bonus stage when starting up again with the password. I have the Japanese version of the game and can't read its manual.

Tengen changed Devil Crash's pentagrams to stars in Dragon's Fury. They're still intact on one of the screenshots on the back cover though (well, it is on mine anyway).

I've just noticed that the cover's also got a little graphic saying 'The Best 3D Pinball Game In The World' on it, strangely.

... I used to find that the the highest points to be had were from repeatedly getting the ball into that chute across the very top of the table.

Tengen are probably a bunch of Westboro Baptist Church fags.

Well there's the loss of 'Devil' from the title too, I suspect sanitisation (de-Satanisation?) was afoot.

That's not all Tengen changed. Tengen also changed the floor of the main pinball board for some reason. The Mega Drive version is closer graphically to the PC Engine version. Check it out:

Happily, I own the Japanese Megadrive version Devil Crash. :D So I experience it in all its uncensored glory.

I've been playing this one a lot lately. When I first played it I didn't think much of it but now that I've familiarized myself with the game, I find it to be an awesome pinball game. The action is really exciting and the soundtrack is amazing. :D

Maybe they are, since the original TG-16 version retained its original title on the US (although the pentagrams were still changed)

And Devil Crash MD/Dragon's Fury is the shit. Dragon's Revenge, however, is shit

Yeah. Haven't tried Dragon's Revenge though, but it looks very unpolished.

There's at least one way to get to the final boss if I recall...

1- Get the highest score possible on the scoreboard, which is 1 billion. Once you do, you'll go to the final boss.

2- Beat all the bonus boards in one ball.

The first one I know works. The second one I've read, but I don't remember if it works or not.
