This is nothing official or anything, jus a random compilation of ORIGINAL & EXCLUSIVE genesis, 32x & Sega CD game songs (16 tracks in total) to showcase Sega's 16 music capabilities back in the early to mid 90s. Nintendo fanboys always bashed Sega, sayin they culdnt produce quality music bak in the 16 bit era. Well this soundtrack will proove them wrong once again (by givin a voice to sush an under dog system n its powerfull add ons). Sega culd boost up some of the most beautifull & unique sounds of music bak then...and im also doin this for the fans. This site is like a dream world to me and i'd like to thank the community for keeping Genesis, 32x & Sega CD alive in our hearts. Keep up the good work & Hope u enjoy...

(P.S I had to download an emulator, some songs were hard to find on the internet. And again these r songs that culd only be heard on the genesis/megadrive, 32x Or CD extension at the time. Also the file might be temporarily unavailable so jus download it later)

What are you using, Gens?

Blaze

Some game soundtracks weren''t available on many video game music sites so I had to use Gens. It does a good job too, quality wise its perfect. Jus like hearing it off ur TV screen

Bah, you should use Fusion, Gens does have inaccuracies in many areas! Still, good idea, you've inspired me to do one aswell which I will post in this thread shortly. (The tracks will be from real hardware and Fusion as that's accurate reproduction, combination of both).

More Genny music the better right?

Fusion has some crap in its YM2612 emulation (some inaccuracies), and noise of PSG is too quiet ... I'd go for MY MD2...
I've recorded nearly all tunes of Soleil (Crusader of Centy / Ragnacenty), but there's no way I'm going to upload them with 3KB/s upstream...

Not really, try the comparison I did in that other thread a while back, a real Genesis and Fusion (put through a filter to get identical to the actual unit's sound).

Fusion's great, of course, it always does feel great having it from the real hardware. So I see what you're saying. I use both techniques personally, when I don't have a specific cart of the game the music I want to hear or record.

Ever heard the VGM format? That is just awful.

Zebbe

Why did you record Soleil? I'd rather record and listen to sounds from my armpit. Even if it was in mono.

The guy who did Fusion, did actually work at SEGA, so he knew some tricks most developers right now are just figuring out.

Also.

The emphasis on accuracy is demonstrated by Fusion's emulation of the Yamaha YM2612 chip, which is reported by Steve Snake to be almost perfect — other emulators, such as Gens, suffer from imperfections in emulation of this chip as demonstrated by the title screen theme for Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic & Knuckles).

I recorded it, because I think these are VERY good tunes, so nice and clean instruments, so clear sound, very realistic.... also a secret, the soundtrack is the main reason I play that game.

And for games I don't have (around 1000 or so ;) I use my own built flashcart...

VGM is not that awful, but I prefer WAVs... I've got lots of HDD so I don't care about compression or other available formats...

MD is actually very well documented now... but for example, I still find crap in emulators when YM2612 is concerned, and guess what, the most in Fusion.
By finding I mean I'm wiriting a sound driver for MD, and I stumble across on all kinds of things...

The spinner sign when you beat a level on Sonic 1 and two is a great test.

Tells you if "HQ Sound" is even on or not too.

Fusion seems to do that correctly, while Gens on the other hand has trouble. Another test is is the Star Light Zone music. There's an instrument sound in the music that only seems to play correctly on Fusion.

Sounds good to me.

Perhaps your not enabling the HQ mode? Without it, it won't hit high frequencies to well.

HQ always on, and you have to listen them on real HW, or Gens and then Fusion (or the other way)... there's a huge instrument bug... main instrument practically missing...

The most godly provider out there is MediaFire. Works with download accelerators, unlimited capacity, no wait, and best of all it's free.
