A bunch of lemons on here. Discuss.

Well TJ&E is a game I don't really like anymore...it's just boring.
MK1 looked like ass on the Genesis. I still have it and I am scared to fire it up again just to see how much of a turd it looks like today.
"Altered Beast" is so shallow and repetitive that it is unplayable.
The rest of the list is either stuff I like or have never played.

"Golden Axe 2 was particularly disappointing to Genesis owners as it was a significantly different (and inferior) game to the arcade sequel."
Interesting claim, considering Golden Axe II (Genesis) was released prior to Golden Axe II: The Revenge of Death Adder (arcade). Also, at least in my area, the arcade sequel was a lot less-known (if known at all) upon its release than the Genesis sequel. Furthermore, when Golden Axe II appeared on Genesis, it was most often displayed on the in-store demos, resulting in a heap of attention from players. I was often waiting in line to play, but never got the chance, because too many other brats were waiting ahead of me.
So ... disappointing? Bullplop. Maybe now, in present times, some fans don't exactly adore Golden Axe II on Genesis - but in present times the Genesis is off the market so it's rather irrelevant.

The write-up isn't that great, but the actual list is pretty good. Remember that defining doesn't mean best. The Thunder Force series is a pretty glaring omission, though.
edit: Actually, I don't like the Sega CD list at all.

Yea I was just gonna say that. Sure Mortal Kombat looks are comparable to ass and is definitely not one of the best games for the genny but it really was a defining title. Still to this day when a friend comes over to my place and see's my Genesis set up for the first time I still will sometimes get "Dude do you have Mortal Kombat?"
Glad they put Comix Zone in there though good call.

I strongly disagree about the Thunder Force series being an "honorable mention." The first game I rented for my Genesis was Thunder Force II and I was blown away by it and I couldn't wait till Thunder Force III came out. Thunder Force III has great music (BGM 00 'Return to the Fire' is my favorite.) As for the other games...
Sonic - agree
Toejam - 1st one
Altered Beast - agree
Golden Axe - 1st one
Gunstar Heroes - agree (very unique and fun to play)
Vectorman - 1st one
Streets of Rage - 1st and 2nd ones are great (made great use of the the Genesis sound chips)
Kid Chameleon - maybe not a favorite for most, but it had a ton of levels and was quite hard to beat
Mortal Kombat - don't agree, although the music and samples were really clear. I do like the 1st stage music though.
Eternal Champions - nope...too much dithering, the gameplay is ok though

I really need to invest in a copy of Gunstar Heroes and Vetorman. Mortal Kombat and Eternal Champions are both tosh and both Altered Beast and Golden Axe (maybe even the original Streets of Rage) have aged very, very poorly - notice how his Golden Axe screenshot is from the arcade game. Some pretty awesome titles have been mentioned there and I reckon it's a good article.

You should definitely get Gunstar Heroes. The action is practically non-stop and it features some great effects. As for Vectorman, the 1st one has better graphics, lighting effects, and music. The 2nd one wasn't as good in my opinion.

I forgot that Gilius Thunderhead made a cameo in a "Shining" game.

Racketboy should stick to selling Saturn modchips.

I liked the Sega CD list. The Genesis list, for the most part, I agreed with.
The list is pretty much what was popular and what i heard about as akid who never owned one. All the MK games are still playable on the genny and the image i think is MK2.
