I got me a copy of Lemmings from Europe, and I have a japanese Mega Drive.
The cart worked right away, main titles OK, but then.... The stages themselves were all blurry, flickering up and down. You can still play it, but it's annoying.

This never happened to me before.
Has anyone already had such a problem? Could there be a reason for this?

I just want to be sure before I take any action with the seller about this.

it is because the European version is for 50Hz machines... Japanese MD is 60Hz... so the only way is to do a mod in your MD, or use a European MD.

Hmmm....
I have some other european carts that work just fine.
Do you know any other games that present the same problem?

well, not all European games are true European games(which don't work correctly on 60Hz machines). I can't seem to recall any games that would do this (or other weirdnesses)... my MD2 is nearly always in 50Hz mode, and 60Hz games work fine in 50Hz (but lot slower)... I guess European version of Mega Turrican won't like to be run on 60Hz machine (it even displays a lockout), it doesn't even like overclocking...
that Lemmings should display lockout too.

Just get the 60Hz version of the game and avoid 50Hz games like the plague. If you had a way to run your system at 50Hz, you'd still need a TV capable of that refresh rate as well.

Get a european TV, they do both 50 and 60 HZ, and mine accepts 70Hz too to some extent... but you need RGB for colors (if the TV is not really kick ass)

Thanks, guys.
Well, then I hereby declare that I have here a CIB PAL Lemmings copy, if someone is interested!
Or I'll hold it for the next Secret Santa if my friend is from Europe, OK?
