I tried counting once, actually I was trying to write down all the titles for a record of what I have, and it was just taking so long I gave up. I have a bunch more titles now too so. IDK I guess I just have a whole bunch of games.

All these are complete:

Most of mine are complete. The only incomplete ones I have either came in console bundles or were just too cheap too miss. With a bit of patience you can usually get a complete game for the same price as incomplete, so I prefer to wait to get the whole thing.

Very few of them. As a rule, complete doesn't bother me. If I can pay a little more for it being complete, I'll do it, but I won't cry if I can't, unless it's a really rare game I can't stand to not have complete (see, Duke Nukem 3D).

I always seem to think I am the odd one out in that respect on this site, most of the other memebers are very particular about complete games.

My 8 pirate carts are complete as they came this way when they're brand new, only cart and box... but pirate doesn't count so none. 1 original cart I have is just a cart, nothing else.

Almost all of mine are also complete.
When I restarted collecting I didn't care about it much, but then I realized I should get complete games. They look better on the shelf.

I don't see the draw to having everything "complete". All my Genesis games are just cartriges. All those cases do anyway is take up space.

playgen
01-12-2008, 12:28 PM
They also look pretty, keep the carts dust free, and hold the manual safely for you. There seems to be a difference between regions on this, Americans on the whole seem happier with having loose carts than Europeans. I personally can't stand having loose carts for Megadrive or Master System, the few I have I don't even count as part of my collection! whereas for Nes and others I'm not that bothered.
All my Megadrive and SMS games do take up a lot of room, but I like that, having a library of games :D

Earthworm_Jim_Fan
01-12-2008, 12:37 PM
Eh, it could be because I grew up with Nintendo, and they never gave you anything to store your games in.

I don't even like keeping my disk games in cases. Instead, I use those 48 CDs cases.

playgen
01-12-2008, 12:40 PM
Thats probably the reason actually, American Kids grew up with Atari and Nes with their dispoable card boxes so like you said got used to keeping the cart only. While in Europe Master System was much more popular, and the 8bit computers like C64 and Spectrum cassette games generally came in normal plastic cassette cases, so we got used to keeping the boxes.

I'd say 60-75% are complete. I only own a few cart-only games, and they're common-as-muck stuff like Mega Games 1 - so I don't really count them as part of my collection. My headache is games from Gamestation that don't come with their instruction manuals, so I've started re-buying them on the side, complete.

Kollision

All those cases do anyway is take up space. Then you go and buy another shelf, or build another room! - just kiddin' -

As playgen mentioned, there's nothing like having a library of games, just like books, available for you at any time to pick up and enjoy - by that I mean open the case, play the game, have the cart back in the case, sometimes take a look at the manual (indeed sometimes you find some aspects you didn't notice while playing without reading it)...
....and of course, to show off the beautifully CIB-games-packed shelf to your friends - or better - to a colleague who cherishes gaming just like you do! :)

See, this makes me think I am an odd one out among people. I'm european and I don't really mind if a game is complete or not except in the rarest of cases.

I have 12 genesis complete games. Overall I have 20 game cartridge.

David J.

Prolly 30 or so.

A majority of my games are incomplete. Doesn't really bother me too much. The only times I really care if the game needs the manual (Herzog Zewi) or if its a fighting game for move lists.

But for the most part there's only a few Genesis games that I want replaced due to shitty cart labels and what not.

I need a Herzog Zwei manual... no way in hell I was passing up a box and cart copy MINT for $3.

All my Genesis games are complete. The majority of them I bought new. I'm not interested in owning loose carts, I like the box, artwork and manuals! I have around 60 with another 40 32x games, also all complete. I have a good selection of Sega CD, Saturn and Dreamcast games along with 40-50 PS1 and 50-60 PS2 games and about 15 complete SMS games which I just recently started collecting. I don't own a current generation game system yet. I just recently got an N64 and I only have 4 games for that, all complete. I also have over 70 Game Gear games and about a dozen are without boxes and I'm still looking for some manuals to go along with a few loose GG carts I have. If anyone can help, I need manuals for:

-Dynamite Headdy
-Tails Adventure
-Sonic Labyrinth
-Marble Madness
-Itchy & Scratchy
-Tempo Jr.

I have about 10 in total out of my 164, not a big deal at all to me as long as the loose cart is in good condition, I always think the larger quantity of games I now own totally justifies this policy, cib and in mint condition generally costs at least double...

Kollision

My CIB Genesis count is 97/104, which gives 93%.
I'll get to the full 100% in time, 'cause CIB games rule!

Yeah....was an obsession of mine for a while, still is until I get WCS2 to complete the set (unless there is a SOR2 and T2: Judgement Day lurking somewhere in Portugal).

I do have a few others though dude and some MD CLASSICS and KIXX versions.
Kid Chameleon, SOR2, Snake rattle and roll, desert strike (plus sequels), toejam and earl, toejam and earl 2, ecco, aladdin, quackshot and a few others - only really ones I want to play. Plus theres all the black box MCD games and most of the 32X games and some GG too.

Got any pics Mordan?

a blue SoR2? wow

oh by the way do you have the football game cover in blue that sold for 700 quids a few weeks ago? :p good luck for that one

no pics yet. I don't have yet anything worth to show. no complete sets or anything.
I think the first thing I might achieve is getting all the yellow striped EA PAL games. i already have one copy of Normy complete :). Don't know which will be the hardest to find after that one.

Jesus. You will get the next one for sure if you were ready to shell out that many quids. How many times a week do you check ebay for that game :)?

700 is insane. :daze:

I had just sold 48 PS1 games for about £600 so it appeared at the right time. Had a few appear in the past in various places (not just eBay) that have slipped my grasp. When it's the last one you need....you get kinda desperate.

I have about 30 complete games and maybe around 20 incomplete, and before anyone moans that I don't have many games I'd like to add that I had to replace all my childhood games due to my brother selling them all 8 odd years ago
