Is Xenogears any good?

Is Xeongears any good. I have to chance to get it for $15 complete.

I must be completely honest with you, and I am. Two RPGs by Square for the Sony PlayStation bored me to death. One was Chrono Cross. The other one Xenogears. The reason was a very tedious battle system, super crappy 3D graphics, anonymous music and a story far, far too long and complicated for its own good. I got to what was assumed the final dungeon where I thought: "No, it's not worth it being bored another two hours, even if I've played it for more than 70 (it was probably a lot more, I don't recall correctly)". So I just put it down and tried to forget about it.

To do a dumb comparison, I must say Shining in the Darkness is lesser than Xenogears on all technical accounts, but still far, far more fun to play and worth its money to me.

Burn those $15 instead. It doesn't take 70 hours, it warms you and is far more enjoyable!

Well burning and destryoing things can be fun. I could buy it then put it in the Microwave and give it an exciting death

Its all personal opinion - I'd buy it for $15 dollars - Xenogears is in my top 10 list of all time great RPG's

Xenogears kind of divides RPG-players. Personally I don´t think it´s that great, but then again, I was not bored by it either. For quite a few RPG-fans Xenogears (and Chrono Cross) are the peak of PS1-RPGs. Well, at least I think they are both worth a price like 15,-$ easily.

I liked the plot of Xenogears, but the battle system ruined it for me.

FFVII for the win! I could never really get into legend of legaia though.

I paid $40 for my copy of Xenogears back when it was considered rare, and I loved the game. It takes forever though, I played 30 hours, took a break for about 6 months, then played another 30 to beat it.

The graphics were nice for the time but they haven't aged that well, unfortunately.

Well I returned to the thrift store and they still had it. It had a yellow tag which were all half off so I picked it up for $7.50 :)
