There are good maze games, and there are bad maze games. Ms. Pac-Man is a a good example of the genre done right. At the opposite end of the spectrum is Trampoline Terror!, which has to be one of the worst on the Genesis. It's actually appropriate that this is a maze game, as the developers seem to have been lost throughout the entire development cycle. Read the review (http://www.sega-16.com/2005/09/trampoline-terror/) and feel our pain.

I remember Sam Pettus blasting this game in his document a loooooong time ago, and avoided it ever since.

Here's more reason to continue that!

I don't get why this game is ripped as much as it is. Not that it's amazing, but it's not that bad.

I gave this a shot and I think it's pretty fun. :)

Oh crap, THIS game. I was under the impression that the last time I played it that it was just a nightmare and didn't really exist until now.

I think I played it on the PC though, not the Genesis.

Let's get something straight from the start I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

Trampoline Terror if you seen any images of it, looks as if is a rather simple game of squares and triggers that must be hit, along with squares you can bounce on all on an area floating high above the ground, and these things which you can find you can, collect and throw and defeat the mainly enemies you face in the game. But I found it's more than that. Trampoline Terror is just about the best puzzle game you will ever find. Many of the levels are not that straight forward and you have to figure out how to complete. You really use your brain in this game. The bosses and there are a few are an equal challenge, meaning you need as much brain power and skill with your controller to defeat. It's also the only game I ever played that I felt very satisfied after completing a level.

I wish I could say the same about the final boss. Hell if I know how to defeat it!!! I played nearly every SEGA Genesis RPG and I found easier bosses. My advice just skip the last level and save yourself a headache.

But otherwise Trampoline Terror is a rather addictive game, and damn fun too!!

It's not worse than Fatal Labyrinth.. :)
I still stand by what I said in the comments.

This is a fun yet simple and repetitive game. I like to play but turn it off sometimes out of frustration.

I bought Trampoline Terror a while ago, but had never really played it until this weekend. I beat it on Easy last night on my first attempt, and Normal today on my second attempt (third gameplay session overall), so I have no idea what the reviewer's complaining about -- this game is not an "overwhelming challenge" at all, unless there's a hidden Hard mode I don't know about.

The difficulty does jump abruptly around the halfway point, but other than that it's a fairly steady climb. Only a few levels are really tricky, most are well-designed, and none of them are anything like as hard as what you'll get in a game like, I don't know, Flappy or Kickle Cubicle. The nastiest ones often include an extra life bonus that's easy to get (in one case, screwing yourself over = prematurely ending up at the extra life bonus), so what's to complain about?

I'd give this a solid 7/10. Good production values (except for the manual which has some errors and omissions), attractive graphics, solid controls, and a very arcade-style aesthetic. Nothing wrong with the basic gameplay mechanic, though sure, it's frustrating when you don't center a jump, and the Bender heads are a stone in one's shoe on Normal. But the game is never cheap, and it's much more fun than the likes of Zoom.

The worst I can say about it is that it could use a little more variety of enemies, might benefit from a boss every four rounds, and the final boss is too easy. Oh, and the story is stupid, I guess, but hardly much stupider than your typical hedgehog and/or plumber fare.

BTW the screenshot thumbnails in the review are messed up, with the same kind of weird single-color artifacting I've seen in other reviews. Wonder what causes that.

I have to agree with you one more time...

This.

A bloody underrated nice little game is what Trampoline Terror really is.
