Oh just the many different combinations possible.

Only included SEGA manufactured consoles, and did not include PBC.
Post your numbers! :D
PS: I did this chart. Only aid were the line drawings from the Sega 32X manual. Rest, shadows, shadings, etc, all by me.

#8 and #11 rule. I personally have #5.

8 and 11 are the only ones that show the SCD 1 can dominate the machines. :p
I got number 5 also. (finally got my old 32X back from my mother, she's done with it now. remember that wasn't to be for neptune, as per my OP on the neptune thread)

May I ask what your mom was doing with your 32X?

She wanted to play that golf game.

I have all of the consoles (except for CDX now) and I've messed with the different combinations just for fun. The Model 2 with the Sega CD 1 looks funny, but awesome.
My original system was #12, I got a Genny 2, then a 32x, then a Sega CD 2. These days I usually sport the X'Eye with a 32x laying to the side for when I want to play Space Harrier or Afterburner 32x.
I still say #2 is one of the sexiest pieces of electronics ever.

I'm a 6 though 9 or 12 seem to be much more aesthetically pleasing. Often the 32X comes out to be replaced by the PBC.

I didn't include the PBC for two reasons:
1. It wasn't in the 32X manual.
2. It "reduces" the system, unlike the 32X "adding" to the system.

Yea I had to rock out the #11 combo for a while it looked reeeaaalll stupid. Now my everyday machine is a #5, but I also have a #12 just for kicks and a #1 in my truck if the moment ever strikes.

You keep it in the trunk of your car? And I thought I was hardcore

Btw, I know, number 6 is screwed up, the CD eject button is somehow misplaced. I didn't do that, since these line arts were scanned from the 32X manual.
EDIT: I corrected SEGA's mistakes...

I rock #3.
I never attempted #6 aka "Super Battleship Formation".

I love #2 so much. It looks so sleek.
anything that's not MD2 on a frontloader MCD is fine.

5 is clearly the most desireable, but how come no karaoke pack add on? Number 5 looks like a tank with the karoake strap on. 11 looks hilarious

Very nice chart! I have #6, the Super Battleship Formation.
The Nomad and especially the X'Eye are missing!
I'm with #2 and #12...
WAIT A SEC! Is that a 32X/Multimega adapter I see on number 14?

Only #1 and #7, now that I've sold my 32X. But this is a woefully incomplete list. Where's the X'eye? I thought you could stick a 32X in there. Where's the PBC? Where's the Nomad?

so many power supplies when you've got all 3....I dread to think how much power that eats up!

It's a little odd, but the 32x works fine with an X'Eye. You have to remove the 32x to change CDs though.

WOA WOA WOA. Did anyone care to read? I didn't include the PBC because because it's not in the 32X manual, and it technically "reduces" the system where the 32X adds.
Ok, lets say it this way. This chart is for "PERMANENT ADDONS" only, and machines ONLY from SEGA.

Guess no Aiwa, then. Darn.
evildragon
01-31-2008, 02:05 PM
yes, no aiwa.
Nomad wasn't included because it doesn't quality as "permanent"... I can make a chart later called "3rd party" and "portable" perhaps.

The model 1 Mega Drive just doesn't look right with a model 2 Mega-CD. It looks all flat and skinny!
My combo is number twelve. MD2 + 32X + MCD2

Right now, I have #3. Very happy with it. I've had, in the past, #'s 2 and 12

One is a great number to start from. The best, because it means that a world of opportunity lies before you! :p

Well while we're talking about the X'Eye, where is the ultr@ r@re Sega Wondermega. Most were done by JVC but in Japan there were a few out there by Sega.

Well I'll be horn swaggled and dipped in turds. I never knew Sega released any of those under there own name. I googled it and there it was. I guess you learn something new everyday

It's not a common machine. My list is only the common ones.
I will be releasing a second chart with more. But once again, and for the final time, I ONLY use the graphics from the 32X manual!

Ahh by the same token though I didn't know the CDX with a 32X on top of it with the never released adapter between the two was a common system.
Im just messing with ya though but since you only wanted to include "SEGA manufactured consoles," theres another one for the books.

ive used set ups #1, #3, #6, #9, #12 #13 - pretty much in that order also
but i always use #9 or #12 if i ever decide to hook up my 32X ever again
but right now i dont have my Genesis hooked up

I've got a #6 hooked up 100% of the time, but I also have a #1, Japanese, to play PAL games that don't run on the Genesis.

#9 all the way!
#2 was my first, though I find myself foresaking it for #13 more than I should - it's convenient.
#3 is my modificatizedsetup, which I use quite a lot, and occasionally, it becomes #6.
(Shouldn't there be a #15 - Sega Nomad?)

SUPER BATTLESHIP FORMATION!
My setup is either 9 or 12 most of the time. Sometimes 6 and 3. I had Nomad+32X too sometime, and soon Nomad+MCD, and then Nomad+MCD+32X :)

I alternate between #2 and #5, although when i'm using number 2 there's normally an SMS converter plugged in
