First4figures is putting out a new line of Sonic figures, and the best news is that they're all of pre-3D characters! Finally, a real representation of the original Sonic and pals!

Check 'em out at their website (http://www.first4figures.com).

Yeah, their website isn't loading for me. How much do these run?

I can finally ditch my "Sonic Adventure" figure that I've always felt "meh" about.

Yeah, I left it in another tab for half an hour before being able to say, "Oh, wow! It loaded!"

I dunno about the Sonic figurines, but their others seem to run over $100. Ouch. For Serious Collectors Only, apparently.

Damn if they had robotnik or metal sonic that would be awesome. Those actually look pretty nice though. How tall are those anyway?

What do people generally do with these figures? They don't look like they can move or bend, etc.

I'm guessing they display them. ;)

And then what? Are they to scare away potential lays?

And egg shaped bad guys.

Those figures are pretty awesome - although I wouldn't pay $100 for them, imagine how many Mega Drive games you could buy for that money.

Man, their website must be powered by a 10-year old laptop that's been dropped a few times. I gave up on waiting for it to load.

Look pretty sweet, but Smith is right - I don't have that much money for something so dusty-bookshelf bound.

And bendable, poseable figures wouldn't?

Sure. It's always worked for me. Except I keep some of those Ibara ones around so not only is it obvious I'm a video game geek, but it also looks like I actually find inanimate objects sexually attractive as well. Of course my cunning plan fails sometimes, when they start throwing themselves at me before we get to the room where I keep all that stuff.

The first wave of collectible vinyl figures will be previewed at this year’s upcoming Nuremberg and New York Toy Fairs, with product anticipated to come to market around July 2008. They will stand approximately 4 to 5 inches tall.
Wave one will be Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.

More information on the pricing and timing will be made available soon.

I don't see these selling for $100. Maybe half that or so due to the height plus that they'll sell lots of these I'm sure.

I'll say. 16-bit Sonic never had a shoe buckle! Tails' gloves don't have straps! Knuckles doesn't have a wierd rapeface! I think it's pretty obvious why they all run off. Hmph. *soothingly polishes anime figurine, gazes lovingly at bookcase full of creepy DVDs*

oh god preorders for amy are going to be through the roof

Tails gloves have straps, and I think I saw shoe buckle too on my pirate Sonic2 cart with Japanese boxart....

Here's some real boxart :

You could at least make stop motion animated videos with them if that were the case. That would justify their existence. Buying figurines just to put on a shelf is the same as a woman buying knick-knacks, only you're spending a lot more money.

No it's not. The difference is that Sonic the Hedgehog figurines are AWESOME.

Women who buy knick-knacks think that they are awesome.

They're small plastic toys. They shouldn't be more than 20 USD, at most. Unless they're sold in sets.

Personaly, I'd rather get a Sonic X action figure then that. Al least I'd be able to have epic battles with them.

Geez, that site takes forever to load. Here's Knuckles for those who can't get it to open:

Nonsense. Women think knick-knacks are "cute" or "adorable." Not "awesome," and certainly not "AWESOME."

If these are like $10 a piece I'd get them.

$20 a pop? Pass.

How horrible a thing it is to be similair to a woman in any way. It truly is something to be ashamed of. We are after all far superior being the video game collecting tough guys that we are :) . I would say that collecting retro games in general especially rare games is similar to buying knick-knacks only you spend a ton of money. I would get these if they were priced reasonably.

Knuckles was pink in Sonic 3.
If those things are as cheap as $20 I might be tempted (to buy Sonic and Tails at any rate) as it is always good to encourage such retro-ness - Providing P&P to England is cheapish.
