So, I give an old friend a call today and say I'm coming over this afternoon, you know, just to shoot the shit. We're both hard-core gamers and have been for many years. I get there and he's multi-tasking between WoW and Wii, just a normal day for this guy. We get to talkng and I tell him I'm collecting old Genesis games. He giggles and says, I'll be right back. He ducks into his garage and comes back with a huge brown box, "you can have these, picked 'em up years ago and never plugged them in.

With my fixed up Sega CD, I'm glad to have this combo again.

I was suffering from Gen1 and SCD2.. It barely fit in my home theater.

Actually...I got most of my Genesis stuff when it was free, or when game stores were practically giving them away, in the late 90's. I (or rather, my parents) paid full price for a Genesis 2 and 32x new, but otherwise I've never paid more than 30 bucks for a Genesis model, and I've had all of the US units except for the Laseractive and the Genesis 3.

I think it's karma for making my parents buy the 32x. The Genesis gods wept, and blessed me with an X'Eye and a CDX.

Good LAWD, what an awesome grab. Congrats!

I mean, I kept a brand-new, never operated Derby Stallion Saturn in my closet for almost four years, but a stash like that that's most likely been in storage for well over a decade and still in pristine condition? Damn.

As I was viewing your pictures, for some reason the title screen music of "Dark Wizard" was playing inside my head. (It was quite appropriate) It's the only thing I could remember from that boring game, aside from the cool-looking vampire dude also in the title screen.

The complete Phantasy Star II (does it have the hint book?), Dark Wizard and those 1st-gen 3-button pads w/the red lettering are probably the most valuable stuff in that grab.

Good God!!! The pangs of envy are unbelievable, what a haul, I'm salivating about it as I speak, how much did this guy shell out for this stuff no to even play them?

Whatever retail was at the time.

The story goes: He had a son who was stealing his games and selling them for cash at second hand stores. So, he put everything away hiding them from the five-finger snatcher. So yeah, I'm the lucky SOB. He also has a Dreamcast and games put away somewhere.

What a douche. I would have reported him for theft to the cops. Yeah, even if he was my son. You dont just take someones stuff and go around and sell it. None of my business however. I would tell that guy to call the local shops and tell them to give the stuff right back to him.

You would turn your kid into the cops?.. Why? All the cops will do is act like jerks an make your kid hate cops when he grows up. Someone would have to do some serious shit for me to report them to the police. My moto has always been snitches get stiches.
