Anybody remember Mega Man- Wily Wars? It was supposed to reach America, but was only released in Europe & Japan.
I remember it. I was very dissapointed it didn't come out in the U.S. I was planning on buying it back in the day. We got so screwed out of good games.

I think you could get it from the Sega Channel.

Yeah, but that's not the same as having the cart.

There's actually a big Capcom arcade machine going around with the ROMS for dozens, almost hundreds of old Capcom arcade games in it. The Wily Wars is included, and frankly it's really fun.

The Wily Wars was just Mega Man 1, 2 and 3 with better graphics and sound right? Kind of like Super Mario All-Stars? Mega Man 3 remains one of my favorite games ever! I alsways wondered why Capcom never made an original Mega Man game for the Genesis.
I've heard that the jumping is slightly off. Is this true?

I too have heard something about the controls being "different". There apparently is a slight delay or something.

Mega Man's controls were off to begin with, so it doesn't make much of a difference.
It still has the dreaded "Castlevania slap back" effect every time you get hit. God, how I hate that.

There is a slight delay in the controls so it's not as responsive, luckily you can quickly adapt to this so timing doesn't become much of a problem.
It's not just Megaman 1, 2 and 3. When you beat all 3 you can play a new game called Wily Tower. There are some new weird bosses (Like a monkey with a staff/laser gun), and before starting each level you can customize your inventory and choose between all weapons and abilities from the previous games.

Hmm cool. That sounds a lot like Sun-Wukong. Do you have a picture of this character? Im always fascinated by folk lore influencing videogames and try to dig stuff up wherever I can.

There are 2 auctions for this game on ebay right now, they dont seem to cost all that much:

I got the game complete in good condition for about $100. Yes we have the Megaman collection now and yes the music/sound is butchered, but it is still a solid cart and plus, it has a very nice extra that the Megaman Collection doesn't: a small handful of new Wily levels with an item edit mode which lets you choose and mix any weapon and helper item from the first three games.

You have my interest, what is the name of the unit?
