EA's aggressive behavior is freaking me out! They take away the NFL, now their after 2k and the grand theft auto series! Instead of competing they chop block everybody and take work from others! Sorry for the babble but do you guys agree?:daze:

EA can sod off. The moment they dropped "lectornic" and "rts" from their name they became evil. How dare they try and take the GTA series. They will only go and ruin it as they try and whore out 234097423 variations of the game.

If it means an end to the silly platform exclusivity for GTA I'm all for it. The joy of multiplayer deathmatch came to an end when they signed a contract to develop GTA3 specificly for Sony's underpowered hardware.

they need to be stopped before they take over everything!! Or else it'll come to a time where if you want a fighting game you'll have to buy EA Fighter, if you want racing it'll be EA Racing, flight sim EA Flight.. there'll be only one game for every genre and they'll all SUCK harder than Sonic Heroes!

They ruined bond, and how the hell did they get their hands in call of duty 4? oh and command and conquer?

EA certainly are clever, they do just enough work on a game so its not total crap, yet theres plenty of features missing so they can be put in incrementally in the next years version.

They can't take over everything, sure they could buy every game developer but they can't buy the people that work for those developers, who can just quit the very next day and set up a new studio after EA spend billions just to get the brand names.

It was indeed a shame they got hold of the Bond license, whoever at James Bond HQ made that decision should have been fired. I can't forgive EA for stopping development of Deluxe Paint, the fools!

Electronic Arts were FANTASTIC... I even liked their wacky cartridge shapes.. but EA is just as evil as Sony circa 1996

COD is by Activision. You're confusing your massive, developer-eating mega corporations. :D

I sincerely hope EA stays away from Take Two. The day that gaming is made up of four or five delopers is the day I stick to retro stuff only.

EA turned into collosal grade-A fucktards during the Saturn era.

My bad..I was playing COD4 not to long ago and I could have sworn that I saw their logo when the game first fires up.

I love lotus R.E.C.S and what ever happen to madden? Is he to old to put on the cover these days? They cant even handle him doing the commentary anymore!! They should change the name to EA'S NFL

GTA4 is not system exclusive.

Is the company even called Electronic Arts anymore, or is it just EA and it stands for nothing? Kind of like Federal Express is now FedEx and it does NOT stand for Federal Express.

Though I'm a devout fan of the Battlefield series (especially BF2, BF2142 and BF2:SF) EA are fucking idiots. They don't listen to the public at all. They're so corporate it's disgusting. There's just no love for games in the higher echelons of their management at all. just looking for the $$$. The developers must feel like idiots. It's already well documented that DICE are under pressure to whack the games out, with a "satisfy demand, patch it later" ethic. The newer management forced out half of the best employees at DICE anyway after they had brought and then destroyed the team that did the 1942 mod and worked on BF2 in the early - mid stages.

You play a GTA game and you know it's love that has gone into it. The publishers TT have a close relationship with the team back here in the UK to get things worked out and it's been perfect so far. From top own days till the awesome San Andreas and the greatest game ever Vice City (80's nuts unite!)... You don't just get the game, you get the music, the scene itself immerses you, the banter on the radio, the adverts, the voices from professionals and sometimes HUGE names even the websites they do for the products / various things in the game themselves just add to the experience.

If EA got their hands on it. It would be just another "Getaway, Driver 3 etc." Games which may have their fans or may be ok, but is nothing on the level of GTA.

We all know EA was a huge plus for the genesis. But I think EA has Sega and the genesis to thank for their success. Not the other way around.

Need for Speed 3 is my favorite Electronic Arts game for Playstation. Other than that not a fan of their newer stuff. SIMS games are decent for PC thats all i give them credit for

I don't recall ever owning any Electronic Arts / EA game. Though I think I will get Soviet Strike for my Saturn and The Immortal for my Genesis soon.

EA's company structure has changed since the new leadership last year. The acquisition of third party developers doesn't work the same way, and recently publicly admitted the mistake of simply absorbing developers like Bullfrog and Westwood. The recent buyout attempts are a response to the merger between Activision and Vivendi (they only use the name Blizzard for its brand recognition) who are now the biggest players in the industry. If anything, Activision has filled the void left by the old "evil" EA.

Sure, there's the constant output of Maddens and Sims expansions, but they only do that because people actually buy them, and when you look at the target demographic these people aren't really prone to buy any "real" games anyway, so more power to them I guess.

Mr Smith

My God the Sims is a tosh game.
I would, however, forgive all and buy the game if they released a "Sims lesbians" expansion pack.

It's easilly the best of the very few good EA titles on the system, you will enjoy it ;)

I'd agree with this, except that all that readily available porn on the internet says I shouldn't.

EA related tangent:

Damn Criterion Games for taking out "Road Rage" in both "Burnout Revenge" and the new game.

I hate EA for life. That crap they pulled with the nfl is just sickening. I like the boxing games they put out, but i just wish 2k games would do boxing games instead so I wouldn't have to support EA. I hate in fight night how they only give you like a couple of boxers to choose, why no mike tyson or joe lewis or rocky marciano, or even that giant russian guy who boxes now Nickolei Valuev, all they have is like roy jones jr and some guys. Thank god they put marvin haggler and sugar ray(both) in the games or i would have been really ticked.

Also, most of their games suck.

Whoah Rusty, is that your desktop background?

Of the four desktops I have that is not on any of them. My main desktop is a high res shot of the surface of Mars.

I had always wished that Road Rash would make a return, but I have my doubts anymore. RR2 is fun, but it is choppy.

Oh... thats a bit differant...

Anyway weren't Dark Castle and Shaq Fu awful? Who made them? Oh yeah - EA!

I heard at gamespot that there's a new road rash in development too, I still need the mega cd and saturn versions. But if EA ever make a Shaq Fu 2 I will sell one of my most prized possessions in exchange for a Virtual Boy or something!

You all better pray EA dosn't get their hands on 2K's goodies. Being a former EA employee, I've seen the company do some down right nasty things to get what they want. Sickening really. But shit, they paid the bills, bought my house, my two '69 camaros and many other things :D

HAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rusty Venture
02-29-2008, 01:55 PM
I don't know how I feel about the possibility of a new RR game. I guess I just always pictured an updated RR2, but I realize it will be something far different. :?

Oh... thats a bit differant...

That I have four desktops, or that I have chosen a picture taken by the Mars Rover as a desktop?

If it wasn't for the icons and taskbar you'd swear you were looking out a tiny window at a crater on Mars.

What was the lie EA gave Sega regarding the Dreamcast? They would publish games for it when it reached 1 million?

j_factor
03-01-2008, 01:08 PM
Yes, they officially stated that they would publish Dreamcast games when the system reached a user base of 1 million in the US. DC reached that mark faster than any console before it, but EA still reneged. I don't remember what the official line was once DC did reach the 1 million mark.

In hindsight, EA's policy towards DC makes no fucking sense. This is a company that published games for the Gizmondo at launch.
