I had a kid come into Radioshack today, looking for a fuse.
He was 13.
I asked what he needed it for.
"To fix a Sega CD"
"....... AWESOME!"
So we went on to find the correct fuse, and told him the basics on soldering and he also bought (aka his mom bought) rosin-core solder and a gun. I shook his hand on trying to put together a system older than himself, and told him to visit Sega-16 before he left.
That was an awesome day!

I had that happen more than a few times with my last car, but it was prone to go through mufflers.
Seems either that particular model or that particular car somehow allowed water to collect behind the muffler and rusting out the pipe. Sold the car with a bad muffler and 184,000 miles on it.

ANGST! ANGST! ANGST! ANGST! ANGST! ANGST!
Genesis Knight
10-13-2007, 08:06 PM
So I was ringing up some customers at work today - a twenty-something couple who were talking and joking really loud - when the guy looks at me, laughs, and asks, "I thinks she's cheating on me, what do you think?" I just smiled, shrugged, and said "Anything's possible." They continued bantering for a bit, and she said something about "giving people ideas" and then he starts talking louder about "don't you be cheating, woman!" And pulls out a taser from his jacket. Not the type that shoots little shocker leads, but the open-contact drive-stun kind. So here's this guy, fooling around with his girlfriend at Staples, and he has the idea that it would be funny to fire off a taser in the middle of the checkout lane.
I was surprised at how loud it was; the crack could be heard all around the store and everyone stared. The whole counter literally lit up blue with the glow of the electricity, and I could actually feel a bit of the electricity knife through four feet of air and buzz me. His girlfriend jumped like she'd actually been hit, and I'm not surprised, since he set it off only a few inches from her back. They were laughing and carrying on like it was hysterical, but I was gaping and so was everybody else. Later my manager said he thought someone had dropped a ladder - and he was on the other side of the store.
People are weird.

DC? Yes
Xbox? Pretty much - I bought a few games from my last two pay checks which barely cost me a thing, as the games are so damned cheap.
My last two pay checks where $250 together - I worked part time, and I still have around $200 or so. Not bad.

I didn't think you were a vagrant, I'm just not terribly concerned with whatever tedious task one does to pay the bills.
I can tell you that the one here never really paid enough. Office Supply gets paid the least and yet is supposed to cashier, work copy center, furniture and electronics when asked.

Yay, the sexist reverend who was running for mayor didn't get elected. He lost in a huge landslide. Had he won, my area would be in the news again. If he gets reelected in City council, I'll be pissed.
Pretty much we have this sexist reverend who is on the city council. Last year he fired this Sunday school teacher who taught for about 50+ years because she was a woman. He cited the change in church policy to the first epistle of Timothy.
But the kicker is, he was reverend for three years before he fired her. That smells like he was looking for an excuse to fire her. Then says prayer in public is bad, yet pins for it in city council... It seems he only adheres to the bible when it comes to firing women.
So now the current mayor, who ran a bar that got involved in this lottery scam is now reelected. That shit could have happened at any bar, and he's a hell of a nice guy so I'm glad he got reelected.
Thank god I'm leaving New York Tuesday.

I'm still trying to find out if a certain Issue 1 bill passed.
If it did, it would implement a 6 feet rule for strip clubs. Not that I go every week (Once a year, if that), but it's basic rights infringement and only is there to attract votes from the Super Christian/Puritan community that overtakes the state of Ohio.

I like to eat my toast in the following way:
Toast it so it's nice and golden brown - not too light, not too dark. Once it has popped up in the toaster, either leave it there so it goes cold or bring it back to my desk to place in front of the desk fan.
(time passes)
Now that the the toast has cooled and it's nice and hard, put the butter on. None of that hot, butter-melting-onto-it stuff for me, cheers. I mean I can eat it like that, but I much prefer cold toast. Delicious.
