It doesn't come with alcohol, it is almost exclusively served with alcohol. I find most of it nasty with or without alcohol. It is like a non-frozen milkshake with blended eggs and about a pound of sugar. My family loved it growing up so I drank it every Christmas and loved it, but I also drank non-diet cola back then instead of water. Now I get really ill trying to consume any of that stuff.

Scotch is still okay though.

I'm sweating like a pig but I couldn't be more happy - taking my dog out for his nightly walk and I noticed something outside a house; a CRT with a note plastered on the front saying it was it in "perfect" condition. Run home, came back and had a word with the owner, a rather nice lass who said I could take it. It's a 36in, widescreen Panasonic with it's own stand. Thing weighed a ton and it's taken me, on my own, to lug it one flight of stairs over an hour. But bless Zoltor, this thing is awesome! I'll post some pics later (too pooped), but damn does Sonic 1 look fantastic on it! :)

The first school I went to went from Kindergarten right up to Grade 8. Here's a little something i wrote for my wife for her college homework assignment. The assignment asked why the entertainment industry was so dominated by the "white man," and what steps can be taken to change this. I love racial issues, so I had some thoughts:


"This question reminds me of an episode of The Simpsons, in which the politically-driven Lisa Simpson targets the show's fictional take on Barbie doll, Malibu Stacy. Malibu Stacy, like Barbie, is a shallow relic of an age when women were seen as little more than simple homemakers, painting a sexist and terribly dated picture of what women were capable of. Working with Malibu Stacy's original creator, Lisa develops a new doll that encapsulates everything that the modern woman has become: free-thinking, educated, driven, and successful. The new doll, named Lisa Lionheart, creates quite a bit of excitement before it is released, but in the end the fickle public favors yet another edition of Malibu Stacy, this one released with a new hat.

The point is that sometimes the public is given something that seems to be what they need and what they are asking for, but in the end is rejected in lieu of the comfortable old stand-by. Entertainment history is dotted with countless programs dedicated to non-white groups (referred to as the "urban market" so marketing departments can generalize without sounding racist), but only a few have seen anything resembling success. The Cosby Show seems to be the exception that proves the rule. I think mainly this is because the "urban market" simply has interests other than film and television. I'm sure there are thousands of blacks and hispanics that watch Friends and The Big Bang Theory, but I think it's far more likely that various focus groups have revealed that their interests lie largely elsewhere. It's easy to imagine a ten year-old Spike Lee making movies with a Super 8 camera, but it's also easy to imagine that he was probably ridiculed by the majority of his peers. This may just be my own conditioned "white man" mentality thinking for me, but I really don't think the urban market is terribly interested in making movies and television shows, and since anyone who creates tends to stick with what they know, that pretty much leaves movies and television looking pretty caucasian.

Can this be changed? Sure it can, but that also reminds me of that old joke about how many psychiatrists it takes to change a light bulb: only one, but the light bulb has to really WANT to change."
