What are your opinions on the Sega Activator? I have 1 working set and a few spare parts and found it a real pain to work. I havent actually tried it out yet.

Activator = Sega's Power Glove.

I want to try it out, but it might be a waist of time... I would buy it if it was cheap.

atleast the power glove looks cool.

I worked at a Babbage's when this came out and I think we sold one, but the person brought it back.

I actually think the Powerglove was better. At the very least you could use it as part of a Halloween costume.

The Activator would've been better left on the drawing board.

I don't understand how it could possibly work. How do you do a Forward + Forward + B in SoR with this? Or a jump kick? Or anything else?

There are 8 pannels in a ring, and there is a short and a tall height when you cross the beams. The activated games you just need to cross certain pannels to do a special move.... forward+forward+B would be pannel 1 and back, pannel 1 and back, pannel 4 and back.. I think. If it was an activated game some have built in combos and stuff. I dont have the manual on me but you look like a complete fool using it :P. It is also a pain to set up since you cant use it in a room with floresent lights or a with a room thats different heights and stuff like that.

I tried it out with a few of my games but one of my pannels was broken but i got a replacement set but havent tried it out. Your hands have to be flat and you need to wear light colored shoes or socks.

Panel 1 low twice, then panel 2 low.

I'd like to give it a shot sometime, sounds intresting. I remember hearing about it back in the day but I never saw one.

It never came to the UK. Whether that's good or bad is anyone's guess. =/

I tried it out. I could never get used to using it. It always felt weird. I mean, imagine Para Para Paradise's controls for a fighting game. I was surprised, though, that I never had any problems with accuracy or responsiveness.

One of my pannels was broken in my first set which caused problems with the other ones. Other pannels wouldnt work if I kept the broken pannel in certain spot. I havent tried it out now that I have another set. I should try it out though. I have only tried the game out with Eternal Champions and Cool Spot. I couldnt even finish the first lvl of Cool spot.

A very very long time ago, a friend of mine had one and we all thought he was so cool for owning one...never mind it made him look like a ninny for using it and he was too short to get it to work right half the time anyway.

Ah, childhood.
