$40, is it worth that much?
PS. I don't play many RPGs, but I will get some.

personally i only paid 10 dollars for my complete in box one, but that was back in 99'. I'm not sure what they go for now adays... if thats the average then I guess yeah. I know the internal memory certainly isn't enough for much.
Shit I remember back in 99' I could also pick up Lunar1 and 2 off ebay for like 10 bucks each. I was pissed as I bought mine originally back in the early 90's at retail...

Personally If I were you I'd wait until my sega CD ran out of memory then I'd buy a ram cart. I got my back-up ram cart for much cheaper than $40, but I got it as part of a huge Sega CD lot.

If your games take up a lot of space, or are running low, you'll need one.
I got mine for $3. Look at pawn shops, they might be mixed in Genesis carts. I got a SCD one and a Saturn one cheap that way. Yay me.

It's definitely worth it. Too many of the best CD games eat the memory, so you need every bit of RAM you can find.

No... it's just you can only have like 1 or 2 saves and that is it.

the problem was shining force you can just play the extra sequel if you have 2 savegames
and i cannot use a ram cart cause i need an import adapter (cdx)

Why don't you use ConvSCD to change the region of the disk and burn it onto a CDR. This way you also can preserve your original and have no need for the import cart.
Go here to DL the program (http://www.retrodev.com/convscd.html)
Go to segaxtreme.net for any discussions on it... the guy who coded it hangs out there.
