How come most Arcade sticks don't work?

I have bought 5 arcade sticks for the Genesis in the past year, and none of them work 100%. Is this just bad luck, or is it an epidemic?

Are they first party sticks? I always found the original Sega ones to be very hardy and sturdy.

I had a SG-3000, or something like taht, and XYZ don't acknowledge at all in any game, and are hard to press in. So, yea, it does suck. But, for me at least, and scence my freind gave me his two three'ers, I'm set with my multitap and some thunder force 4! GO ATARI!

I've had three different Fighter Sticks and they all worked well. Maybe you didn't do the right ritual dance before you went shopping.

The sega made one I got from teh Pawn shop works great. Im gonna pick up another once I even my money problems out.
