I didn't like Star Wars for the gameboy. Hard to believe Capcom made something that annoying and bad.

Why is that hard to believe, Star Wars itself is annoying and bad. Well, the very first one was pretty good, they went markedly downhill with each subsequent sequel.

Super Star Wars was going to come out on Megadrive, Factor 5 were porting it along with Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures. I have a magazine with a preview of it somewhere, sadly both got cancelled.
Star Wars for the Master System is excellent - you get to play as Luke with a light sabre, Han and Leia in the platform levels, and the vehicle sections are great.

I had fun back in the day with the Super Star wars series on Snes but playing them now they seem a bit lacking.

Nope there hasn't been a rom of it found yet. It looks good (albeit with less colours than the snes original) in the preview I've got, has pics of the later levels too so must have been near completion. I'll scan it when I eventually get a new fully working scanner.

They're bloody hard as hell is what they are. I absolutely loved Super Empire Strikes Back when it came out, but playing it recently made me want to melt my controller. Twitch platforming is not fun.

The only Star Wars games I ever really liked were the arcade ones.

but there's a lot of sprites on screen in that game.
Super Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back slows down when one enemy appears onscreen, and if that isn't slow enough, it slowsdown even more if you jump or attack him.
I'm dead f--king serious

Your darn right its tough. too tough. The thing I disliked about those games was how far off the story they went. Like the beginning, when you had to climb up the sand crawler. I always used to make my friends laugh by asking them if they remember that time when Luke had to jump up the sand crawler. Its a shame that most regular players wouldnt get to the absolute awesome trench run at the end of the game. I had to skip to it to get to it. The game has too many pointlessly difficult levels that had no part in the movie. IIRC, the other ones (ESB and ROTJ) were like that too. I would give SSW a 8 had it been on the Genesis, but maybe a 7. Im picky when it comes to difficulty.
Ive only played ESB on NES for a few minutes and it wasnt that great, but probably would have been okay had that been all there had been for NES SW games.
The one pre-ps one star wars game I really like is the Walker attack game for the Atari 2600. Good fun.
If we are talking PS one star wars games, I am in the absolute minority, but I LOVE Rebel Assault II. What a funny and campy story that isnt crappy episode one style.
Everyone here needs to play Star Wars Chess for the Sega CD. Be sure to be drunk first, as you are sure to laugh your ass off.

It didn't make it to N64, did come out on Playstation and Dreamcast though. It is indeed a pretty cool game.
The Dark Forces series was awesome too. I loved Jedi Outcast, but I never got to play Jedi Academy. Is it worth picking up on the cheap side now?

I had Jedi Academy when it was new, and multiplayer was pretty fun. They had really fleshed out the whole jedi dueling aspect and added lots of new moves like running on walls. Sadly I sold my copy. Recently I read that there was some really huge mod released for it, and it was even showed off at Star Wars conventions I believe.
