I'm somewhat surprised that in my time here on Sega-16 how I haven't heard this great site mentioned or talked about even once, knowing that most everyone here already knows about it and has seen it. Made me think that there was some "beef" between both "camps", or that Melf and Greg Gillis (FY's webmaster) had about as good of a relationship as Vince McMahon and Randy Savage do (cookie to whoever gets reference) :p .

As great and detailed as this site may be, the one pet peeve that myself and most likely everyone else who's enjoyed this site........and not trying to be hard on the webmaster..............is how it literally takes YEARS for the site's content to be updated. I recall first reading the "1991" section when it first was made available...........back when I was still underaged and in High School in 2004! If I could help out at his site to pump up the completion of those last two years (1994-1995) then I would, but I only have about 3 video game mags from the summer/fall 1995 and I imagine the webmaster wants to be the only one to tamper with his baby. GAH!

"Game Pilgrimage" is also great, though slightly inaccurate as proven by some of us like Joe:

Never heard of Fors Yard before now, however, Space Harrier 2 was an awesome game and had some really good levels.

Shit... I'd never heard of that site until today. Pretty awesome treasure trove of outrageous advertising. I'm sporting the 3-page advertisement for Sonic The Hedgehog as my new wallpaper now.

Nah, Greg and I have no problems. He was cool enough to let us use some of his ads, and whichever we have that he needs are openly available to him.

Contrary to what some may think, I have zero beef with any other Genesis site out there. We're all for the same goal, as far as I'm concerned, and there's no reason to compete, especially since each has seem to have found its own niche that distinguishes it from the others.

I've known about Fors Yard for ages; emailed him a long time ago asking when the next era will go up...sounds like it will be finished sometime...maybe soon...maybe not.

His last update on the latest section (1994) was back in mid-February, saying that it was the biggest yet and would be up in the next couple of weeks. Ever since then I've been visiting the site like clockwork, clicking on the 1994 section..........no dice. as of yet. :(

I watched and downloaded the "Sega Tribute Video" years ago. I have also been waiting for the 1994 section to be updated.

I even recall reading all of the Sega Base articles (on their original site) back in 2002.

This site was included as a reference in the Wikipedia article, but someone asked himself what makes it and Greg Gillis reliable and it was removed for the Good Article reviewing.

I've known of the site for 4-5 years. It's great. Greg was the first to find and post one of the oldest Genesis commercials, one of the commercials in the
"We Bring The Arcade Experience Home" campaign from 1989-1990, which is older than the "Genesis Does" campaign from fall 1990. Greg has tons of magazine prints ads too. Awesome.

Don't try to deny it, Melf. Our blood feud has been going on for years :)
