If you did not know already PC is one of the absolutely finest platforms for 2D shooters, and this is one of the best. At least I recall it is, I played the shareware version all the time back in 1997. Now you can download the full version for free, the only problem would be launching it... I tried a few months ago using DOS Box, I got it to run but the controls wouldn't work...

Downloading now.

There are only two PC 2D shooters I've ever spent any time with.. Raptor and Tyrian. This looks a lot like a horizontal Raptor, so.. neat. Thanks for the heads up.

EDIT: This doesn't have to do with Stargunner at all, but Rockstar just recently released GTA2 as freeware on their official website (http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/). Thumbs up to freeware.

EDIT ROUND TWO: ...and Stargunner will not run. Blarg.

I managed to get Stargunner to run. You need the latest version of Dosbox:

You'll need some experience with the DOS prompt of course, but I think most of you should be familiar with it.

Unfortunately the game doesn't run too smooth on my computer, and the FMVs run at a terrible speed.
