Main game collection:
http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload4/DSC06485.JPG

Controllers. Rather boring since I didnt bother to take em out:

Stuff Im going to sell:

My SMS collection didnt make it. Its all packed up in huge boring boxes and there are way to many for me to take all out for a few pics :)

Looks good -- I'm still not done with my setup. Next week I'll be hopefully.

I'm intrested in a few of your SMS games you have in your sell photo. Batman Returns and Ninja Gaiden. Do you have Master of Darkness?

winona

Yeah I have it, in my collection. Its a really cheap game in Europe and I could easily find a bunch of copies. However, as you live in the States the shipping will probably cost you more than youd like to part with.

Swedish shipping costs are beyond ludicrous.

Hmm... I dunno, I'll wait for something with cheaper shipping, no offesne. All but Power Strike 2, most all of the PAL SMS games I want are common.

I almost won a Power Strike 2 on eBay recently. I also need Sonic and maybe (big "maybe") Sonic 2 for the SMS. Not sure if they were released in the US, but I'd be happy with the UK versions since they are no different except for the horizontal instruction booklets of many languages.

Sonic 1 was released in the states, but it is NO different than the UK version other than a crappy UPC sticker that automatically makes the US version attract daff prices whenever it shows up. If you want to pay out the hose for a sticker then hunt down the US version. Strider and Spiderman have the same exact sticker situtation. The PAL versions are common anyway. Sonic 2 sure as hell wasn't released in the states.

redrum666: Could you tell me a little bit about that Tekken Special you have there? And show me some pics, if possible.

here is some info on the game as for pics i wouldnt know how to get pics of the game sorry

you play as one of 8 players
kazuya
lee
paul
jun
yoshimitsu
heihachi
nina
law

the button layout is like VR fighter
A-block
B-punch
C-kick

the other buttons on a 6 button pad do nuthing (so all you need for this game is a 3 button pad)

the music is OK not the best there is no music at the title screen or at the player select screen no voice overs there is hit sounds

grafx for the fighters are great better then VR figher vs tekken and better then VR fighter 2 on genesis the fighters are bigger in this game then in the other 2 games but better then i was thinking they would be for a bootleg

the background grafx are good not as good as VR fighter 2 for genesis but also better then i was thinking they would be for a bootleg

the game play kind of slow and the computer plays cheap and some times a button wont work wane you press it

your fighter does do there win poes wane they win

I'll play. I took these a few months ago, but not much has changed.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0001.JPG

N64, Dreamcast, SNES, PS2, Xbox, DS, GBA, GameCube, and SMS. I also have a tape Dragon Breed in there, and I recently got Game Gear Ristar. I just started picking up some cheap shelving from Wal-Mart as I needed it, and the company that makes these stop making the wood grain looking ones, hence the sole black case in the center. :|

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0002.JPG

I really don't need two, but I use the Taito Egret on the left for Neo Geo MVS and the right Sega Astro City for everything else. I got the Astro City first and picked up the Egret cause I think it looks neat. I'd only consider getting one more cabinet (a great looking Namco one) since space is limited. Also need to get a few more marquees to fill up the wall.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0003.JPG

Saturn, PlayStation, and PC Engine.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0004.JPG

NES, Sega CD, and MVS shock boxes. Keep meaning to make nicer labels for my MVS stuff, but I keep putting it off. :( I know I need a new TV, too -- I'm still using the very first TV I bought, back in 1989. :p

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0006.JPG

Genesis/MegaDrive games. Doesn't seem like much compared to other people's. :)

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0007.JPG

All my consoles are put in this in a closet.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0008.JPG

Boxed NES, Super Famicom, and 32X games. Those are loose Taito game cards I was sent with some order.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0009.JPG

I keep my arcade games in USPS boxes on the top shelf of the closet.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0010.JPG

Controllers. The bulk of that are Saturn controllers due to Saturn Bomberman. :)

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0012.JPG

Second small closet with all my magazines and other stuff. Import guide books, new Worlds of Power box set, etc.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0013.JPG

More magazines. I've since moved the baseball cards out since I plan to sell and put my old PC games in its place. Boxes to the left are video game posters I've not put up.

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/collection/DSCI0014.JPG

I wrap in paper, then bubble wrap, then cover in a trash bag all my important console boxes. Stupid me threw away a lot of my older stuff due to space long ago, and I regret it. :(

Great set up Ben! I need to get one of those cool cabinets with the doors. About how many PS2/Xbox/GC games would you say they hold? The doors have a lock too, right?

Yes, the lock is what sold them on me for what friends bring kids over and stuff, though now I wish I had gone with something more modular as I can't find these anymore. The closed cabinets are nice too if you want to help avoid having your living room come across as some gaming freak palace. I ended up buying the cheap CD racks as what was to be temporary storage isntead. I guess eventually anything you'd end up buying would stop production at some point in the future though. Sauder makes nice looking and fairly well made but still cheap funiture found at Wal-Marts and whatnot. My cabinets used to have that bottom support platform as this one does, but after a number of moves, it finally broke off.

http://www.sauder.com/furniture/product.asp?p=384

Probably more than you cared to know. :)

Anyway, those A/V cabinets can hold 312 upright DVDs. You can fit more if you stack others on top sideways as I had to do with the Genesis ones. I love how great MegaDrive stuff looks on a shelf, but they do eat up space. It's funny, but it really is similar to how people complain how much great artwork was lost when music went from vinyl to CD.

Is that outrun a blue label cart? It has the blue-label packaging, and the Alex Kidd is the later rerelease of the game.

The blue label out run is perhaps the rarest US SMS game, well variation anyway. Is your Rambo a blue or red label?

You might want to keep those, they are some expensive games and catch some serious coin if sold sepretly. Later rereleases, and the blue label's of US games are pricey.

I know a guy who'd would pay an insane amount of money for a blue label Rambo. He paid over $500 for Smurfs 2 on the Master System, the rarest overall game. ;)

Joe Redifer
07-08-2006, 01:01 AM
One had super-powered high definition graphics that blew you out of your chair and through the back wall with its awesomeness. I can't even count the amount of times I've had to replace and rebuild walls because of this. And of course it was 1080p standard for all games even back in 1989. The one without high definition graphics has crappy graphics and people hated it and eventually said the SNES had better graphics.

Check out his comparison:

They may have copyrighted it in 1991, but it had to have come out right around the time Mario Paint did. Maybe it came out a little earlier and I am remembering wrong, but Mario Paint was at least announced by then. I remember reading an interview with the programmers, might have even been here on Sega-16. But the game was definitely an answer to Mario Paint.

You're mis-remembering. Art Alive came out a year before Mario Paint. That you rented it later on long after its release has no relevence. :) I think Art Alive just never gets the recognition that Mario Paint does because 1) no mouse was packed in, 2) Mario Paint has additional fun music modes and mini-games, and 3) no save feature, which is a huge gripe when you've just wasted an hour or more drawing and coloring.

Well I'm still not 100% certain of the release order, but I did make a Art Alive bs Mario Paint video on VHS tape back in the day when they were new. Check it out (ya need Quicktime).

Art Alive vs Mario Paint movie (http://pixelcraze.film-tech.net/crap/mariopaintvsartalive.mov) 3.5MB

I attempted to draw the same images in both programs as best I could, and then I put them back to back on the videotape. Art Alive allows for much more detail. Art Alive has the white border. Mario Paint always has a huge black border and takes up less of the screen. This was done a loooong time ago which is why the added music is in mono. I do apologize that this isn't in high-definition and 5.1 surround.

@Joe: I've never really shown off the games before, so I never really worried about getting those tags off. Most of 'em just rip up the actual game's sticker anyway,so I've never bothered.

@Ben: It's a sticker of a green chiuaiua, aka a green dog, so the game it goes with is.... Green Dog!

Yeah, I know it's stupid, but I already had it boxed, just with no label.

Zebbe your Genesis isn't hooked up in stereo!

Zebbe
08-16-2006, 05:56 AM
Damn right! :/ I haven't figured out how to do it yet (it's been months, I know). I can't do it through my TV, since I have a RGB/AV-cable that gives video (which is godly) which won't allow stereo sound cables at the same time somehow. I tried to do it through the Mega CD and my vinyl players amplifier and giant speakers, but that just made the sound worse due to oh so sucky old vinyl system. So I'm thinking about buying small bass speakers and plug them into the headphone jack (my friend did that and it sound as godly as my video looks). But that wont give great sound to the Mega CD (or the 32X when I finally get that hooked up) will it?

Joe Redifer
08-16-2006, 06:23 PM
Yes it will. If you don't plug anything into the MIXING jack on the back of the MEGA CD, your Mega Drive headphone jack will output all Mega Drive/Mega CD/32X sound in stereo!

Zebbe
08-16-2006, 06:35 PM

Actually, we had a flood in late July, but luckily that part of the basement is higher than other parts, so barely any water stayed in that area. We'd have to have a monsoon to touch that part of the room.

It is awesome though, especially when all of the tv's are on. (damn, that should have been the picture I took.)

Joe Redifer
01-04-2007, 02:09 AM
You need to get more TVs and more game systems (doesn't matter which systems) and have each TV display a different game, and then take a picture! Bonus points if you have people playing each game, or better yet all of the controllers being held by you as you try to play them all at the same time!

You don't have Paint? There's really no excuse for this in my opinion and reeks of laziness, but here you go:

http://jamesfreyfootballhero.com/resize/

Anyway... You really should take better care of your stuff as well. Having a big messy pile like that isn't the best way to preserve your junk. Look into Rubbermaid containers at least.

Joe Redifer
01-04-2007, 05:26 AM

How many feet of snow do you have David J? We've had about 12 feet or so in the last month. Icy roads are best navigated if you start out in 2nd gear, leave lots of room, and don't press hard on the brakes. After that they are 100% fun!

David J.
01-15-2007, 11:50 PM
We don't even have a foot right now. We've had some odd snow this year. It's more ice than snow. I had an inch of ice cover my front windshield, and next to none throughout the rest of my car... how odd. I don't even think we've had 12 feet since november!

I got new tires the last time there was snow on the ground... before christmas, because I got stuck on a hill on a side street, and that was real fun (the guy behind me was a real ass), and then I got new tires, because they where 11 years old, weather checked and the tread was thiner than a piece of paper.

My car is an automatic, so I really don't need to dick with gears... although I have a first and second along with Drive. My car's transmission has been through a lot, and what I drive has a spotty transmission, so I won't mess with a good thing. And it'll be really hard to do so while driving, since my car has column shift (I hate floor shift with a passion) but my car's a huge boat so it's awesome in the winter.

Joe Redifer
01-16-2007, 01:55 AM
I thought only girls drove automatics. Oh well. :) Anyway you can still start out in 2nd gear with an auto tranny ("tranny" meaning "transmission" not transexual or transvestite). When you start out in first on icy surfaces all that power is working against you and your tires spin out.

David J.
01-16-2007, 11:40 AM

Where I live, it's a good thing to drive an automatic... it's just about always rush hour here. I've driven stick, like six times, and the second to last time, I finally got it down. But the last time I drove it, I was awful. I never had a very steady way of learning, and my dad was very conflicting. ;)

Joe Redifer
01-16-2007, 06:54 PM
It's a good thing to know how to drive a stick just in case there is some kind of emergency and you need to drive, and the only car available is a stick. I like manual transmissions better for the following reasons:

1 - I feel more in control of my car.
2 - Way better gas mileage. I get over 40mpg consistently with my 2003 Honda Civic EX
3 - Power Plus! Cooler than the NES Power Glove.
4 - Gives you something to do instead of just sitting there. Requires you pay more attention to your driving.

David J.
01-16-2007, 07:26 PM
My biggest problem is letting off on the clutch and then on to the gas pedal at the same time.. my timing is too slow. Now... right now, I am fine with automatic for the following reasons:

1 - I know my car like the back of my hand. I know what I can, and can not do.

2 - I don't really give a rip about gas mileage, nor should I because I am a rather aggressive driver half of the time. And I CAN get decent mileage with my car, but again... I drive like a nut.

3 - I like to floor it, and leave everything in my wake. A underrated V6 does the trick. Floaty suspension helps too.

4 - Oh, I pay a lot of attention... I use all of my mirrors 24/7 because people always follow too close for some reason, and I even use all of the back windows in my car.

I collect games I like too. And I'm, well... done for a few systems, and almost done for a few. The Genesis/Megadrive and Sega Saturn are wallet killers.

Well, I have a definate want list for the Sega Saturn, which has about 8 games on it. And I have a secondary want list for the Sega Saturn, where I'll buy "rare" games if I see them cheap, or get a damn good deal on them. I might as well tackle that list next, except Daytona USA CCE Netlink as I can't see a copy for sale, ever showing up. :(

The Genesis, well I have about 30-something games to get, and most of what I want isn't very expensive, but it adds up.

The Dreamcast... I have five or six games left to buy, and some acessories. I had a huge wantlist of over 80 titles, but I realized that I'm not a big fan of the DC at all, and the games I'd buy on that list, would be like pokemon. Gotta catch 'em all.

Master System will take a long time. I live in the states, so games are fucking rare in the first place... good condition is harder. I have a list of about 20 games. As for PAL games, I have less than ten games wanted.

Seriously though, I am jealous of the bookcases. I am having a hard time collecting enough bookcases for my games.

Tynstar's room is like the ultimate gaming Den. That is one impressive collection to say the least. I'm not sure if you guys are familar with either the user Chrisbid or WasherDryerCombo on IGN, but both their game collections are also around that 3,000+ range of games.

For me personally, I know I'm around the 800 to 900 mark. It's been awhile since I last counted, but I've added quite a bit to my collection in recent months. I just finished reoraganizing my collection on some new book shelves. Fortunately, Menards has some cheap-o white bookshelves that are easy to put together for about $30 a piece that are great for storing games. I should probably get around to taking some photos one of these days.

Thanks guys. A week ago I just passed 2900 games and after all the stuff I got over the last week I am just under 3000. Don't ever say "my collection sucks or is bad" compared to anyone else. We all started with a few games and went from there. I talked to a guy this weekend and has about 11,000 games.

Here is a list of my games.

Nice collection. Whats that wild looking thing next to your power base converter? And is that the capcom fighter stick I see? Great arcade stick for being lite and plastick. I got a Hori arcade stick for the genesis which is pretty nice, but I actually prefer the capcom stick for some games. The stick moves a little more fluidly it feels like but the hori has nice weight, construction, and buttons, I just think the stick is too stiff.

Sorry can't help you there

My Sega Saturn is my most played console in my entire collection.

Now I want to get a good pic of my entire set up in my living room. My favorite place to hang out!

I jam out on a 50" DLP 1080p HDTV, with a Marantz A/V receiver hooked up to all my consoles and surround sound. To the left of my set up is a large closet where I store all my games, controllers and the server for my home network (used mostly for movie and game storage for use with my modified XBOX). Some of my lesser played titles and spare consoles are boxed up and in the attic.

Try Undeadline. You have three hits in it. Plus three options to protect, and a three hit force-shield and a regular knight-shield. You're practically invincible.

Should have posted this here...

I thought I'd brag or post, or kill time, or whatever...here's what I got: (sorry for blurriness, not a pro here...plus a cheap camera)

Note:
I have a Genesis II in the mail, on its way so I can hook up my 32X (also in the mail is another ac adapter/av and rf switch for the 32X) so that would bring my Genesis count to 3 total. The Genesis pictured on the shelf is my first system, I bought in 1989 and it no longer really works [the controller ports are all f-ed up] also on the shelf is a sonic action figure and a game gear)

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/4238/002su3.th.jpg (http://img207.imageshack.us/my.php?image=002su3.jpg)

32X, brand new in box with DOOM pack in, missing AC/AV&RF adapters, so I haven't played it yet :( also there is my sonic action figure and a game gear along with my very first game system ever, a Genny I, bought in 1989.

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/644/003aa2.th.jpg (http://img297.imageshack.us/my.php?image=003aa2.jpg)

Here are my other sega systems, Left to Right: Sega CDX, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Genesis I + Sega CD II. (There is a Playstation One out of the picture...but who cares) In the box above are all my adapters, controllers etc.

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/684/004lf9.th.jpg (http://img509.imageshack.us/my.php?image=004lf9.jpg)

Quick look at my games shelf, 32X on the top left, genesis throughout, sega CD on the right, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast and Playstation on the bottom shelf. On the very bottom, Saturn accessories: RF Switch, 3-D controller, orig. controller, memory cartridge, 3rd party controllers.

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/2076/001jp1.th.jpg (http://img207.imageshack.us/my.php?image=001jp1.jpg)

My saturn, dreamcast and Playstation games and my 2 Game Gear games (its blocked my a game gear game, but my most prized dreamcast game, Toy Commander, is blocked...I know some people don't like it...but I had to mention it...)

http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/7725/006qk1.th.jpg (http://img185.imageshack.us/my.php?image=006qk1.jpg)

Closer look at my Genny, 32X and SCD games. My very much prized and minty SNATCHER (right below Willy Beamish), very much prized, brand new and mint Blackthorne is below Knuckles Chaotix, and other stuff...

Well there you go, my complete library of games...I think I am missing two sega systems, a JVC X'Eye (which I plan to get someday...) and a Nomad which I have no desire to own. Hope y'all like it...

I haven't played them all yet, but i will. I tend to only keep one or two games downstairs with my console, that way i play them through properly. I find if i have too many games out i just skip to another when i get stuck. I'm playing Aero The Acrobat 2 ATM, it's not a bad little platformer.

Maou Renjishi, Japanese version of Mystical Fighters. It's an alright beat 'em up, but it's no Streets of Rage.

LOL. I don't think it's worth that much, you can pick most of those games up for a couple of quid and i doubt there's many people out there who would want as many console box variations as me :D. Apart from a few of the rarer games, the only things of any value are the Ecco Gift Set and the UK Telstar double packs, its very rare you see any of those for sale as not many people will have kept the outer packing.

I couldn't disagree more...
I totally loved her in The Fly and Thelma & Louise.
So there's a game for Cutthroat Island? Hm, I'm gonna check that!

Nice collection!

#1 - Why is the "For Sega Master System" remote controller or whatever it is called actually a Genesis/Mega Drive controller? Shouldn't it be called "For Genesis/Mega Drive"? Crazy Euros!

#2 - The box for the Japanese Ka-Ge-Ki totally rules. Best box cover ever? Perhaps so.

EDIT: Threads merged!

Winona, please attach your pictures, so the thread isn't more than a screen long. It's all disjointed now.

I think the guy on the Menacer box is having more fun with that thing than allowed by law.

Nice :) I keep my MD games in groups like that - Eur blue / non blue / EA, USA red / non-red / cardboard, blah... Spent some time sorting them recently and was called a nerd. How absurd, to be called a nerd! :p

What's in the "Game Box"? (next to your blue Tec Toy MS games)

Also, Cutthroat Island is a bad game, but I've never seen the film.

it does mention Mega Drive and Genesis in the manual. Amusingly enough it can handle 2 controlelrs for the Mega Drive but only one for MS and Genesis. Dunnu why.

Its a Tec Toy Compilation. I think its California games split into 2 releases.
