Are you ready for summer? More free time equals more gaming, and we've got just the thing you need to kick off the season: our monthly Reader Roundtable feature! Once again, our staff and readers get together to discuss what they've been playing for the last thirty days, and this month has a great selection of titles. But don't take my word for it. Read the full article (http://www.sega-16.com/2008/05/reader-roundtable-vol-30/) and see for yourself!

I can't help but disagree with Daniel Smith, but then again I don't think I've ever agreed with him on anything.

Marble Garden Zone was boring, but not as bad as Hill Top Zone was, not to mention Marble Garden Zone had one of the best bosses in the game. I don't see how Carnival Night Zone was "utter tosh", I always loved that level.

Also, Ice Cap Zone was not the first Sonic game with an Ice Level. That award goes to SegaSonic Arcade.

the entire focus of speed has been toned down in favour of a more exploratory style game.
Isn't that why so many people hate the new Sonic games? Because they focus on to much on speed and not enough exploration?

Quackshot is really an outstanding game. Beautiful and MD exclusive, which makes it even more special. Reading this just reminded me it's the next game I should get.

Ah oh my... I missed the end of the month...... it came so quickly I didn't have time to turn in my paragraph....

There's some remnants of my last Roundtable on mine.

I always liked Sonic 3 best... I didn't know I was such an idiot :p

Ah, Quackshot.. I wish it had some difficulty options.

I found myself agreeing with most of Mr. Smiths writeup. I only really disliked Carnival Zone and the bonus stages though, but the game feels very average on the whole.
I think Sonic 2 is the only game in the 16-bit series where they perfectly balanced the exploration and speed elements.

Sonic 3 (& K, they're meant to be together !!!) is the best of the Sonic series, the fastest of them, best looking and sounding. You just have to know how to play it not whine all the time.

When did Carl-Johann Brax go back to calling himself Zebbe on the Roundtable again?

/edit: Aaaaaaand.... itīs fixed! That was fast!

I like Daniel's one. It reminded me of a fustrated child. The rest were actually interesting, however.

And I am curious as to what happened to the Wii VC game articles like these? I remember this site used to list them like this, and then tell us if they think it is worth the purchase on that service?

We're a bit behind in the VC series, but we should have an update soon.

I agree completely with the Sonic 3 bit. I played a neighbor's Sonic 2 to death since I couldn't afford it. We had so much fun playing through the game, racing along the roller coaster, and enjoying seeing who is the fastest with the amazing split screen mode. So, I save up money in anticipation of Sonic 3 and got a grainier, uglier, duller game for my efforts. Sonic 3 has less zones, mostly dull and uninspired level design including the new bonus rounds, extra attacks and power-ups don't belong, and a poor end boss and character in Knuckles, who is worthless here and only serves to annoy the player. I think it was a mistake to go toward longer stages as the expense of variety, and I hate the grainy 3-D renders in the game. It's still a decent platformer, but it remains a huge letdown after Sonic 2.

How dare some of you people call me by my first name? Even my family call me "Mr Smith" go and edit your posts accordingy.

The reader roundtable is, as ever, awesome. I enjoyed Road Rash 3's entry and the Superman one made me smile. For the record; those who disagree with my opinion on Sonic 3 are entirely incorrect.

I haven't played much of Maui Mallard, but it doesn't take part in Duckburg, does it?

I think it takes place in Maui. You can actually hear it on the name, just like with California Games.

I mean that there are no stages in Duckburg, which makes Quackshot the only place where you can play in the city of everything duck!
