This is interesting, it seems Sega is interested is suddenly trying to remind of their console career on their official japanese website. And I don't mean a piece of fan art - there's proper stats and info on all of their consoles (except the dreamcast for some reason), accessories, and add ons even the mega cd karaoke and some stuff I never knew existed. Along with lots of nice clear photos for desktopping. Enjoy!:D:D:D

They don't list Dreamcast because there's still software coming out for it (NAOMI).

I just wish Sega could do an encyclopedia that covers the systems in all regions.

But I'd settle for a nice book about the Genesis that covers its games and accessories from across the world.

Ah, but the job of Sega Fanatic belongs to the fanatics, not Sega.

Sega did sort of release such a book, or, at least, Sega Saturn Magazine did. It's a small, pretty thick book that covers all Japanese games from the MegaDrive to the Dreamcast. The bulk of the book is Saturn/Dreamcast stuff with only a few pages devoted to a list of the MD titles. It'd be a great reference if I could read the Japanese bits. :p Plus, there's always Sega Gaga. :p

Theres quite a few great books released in Japan, theres the Sega Consumer History that covers every console they released. And theres a Megadrive encylopedia too, that came with a little model of the megadrive. Pity they haven't been translated into english, so much cool gaming stuff only comes out in Japan.

You know, I will honestly forgive SEGA everything if Segagaga ever makes its way to these shores. I think it's great a tongue-in-cheek game like that even made it past the boardroom stage - it would be like saying 'we know, we made mistakes when we were young and stupid, let's go get a milkshake and laugh about the whole thing :)'

Come to think of it, I wish the Sega Europe homepage wasn't a Flash nightmare. It's got the business, yes, but I don't want some 'community rep' with a recoloured Knuckles avatar telling me to read his IMPORTANT BLOG while Sega Japan gets stuff this cool. You're supposed to be the quiet, nerdy ones Sega Europe :(
