I've seen *tons* of copies of TF2, and one other copy of TF4 (Lightening Force, engrish rocks!) other than the one I own, but then again I've never really looked for a copy since I got Lightening Force.
However, I've never seen a copy of TF3, does it fetch a high sum of money? Or do I just suck at game hunting? I prefer the Arcade version, but the genesis one is still a great game.

Of the Genesis ones, yes, TF3 is the priciest. But it's not astronomical. It's not Thunderforce V anyway.

Good to know, still it sucks having parts 2 and 4 but no 3. :(

I personally don't think you're missing too much.
It's not too hard to find, but I didn't feel it was worth as much time or money as part 4.
Oh...you're also missing part 1

Yeah, but it wasn't released on a Sega system, just some obscure computer formats and I think it sucks.

Nice History lesson at above link.
2 is still my favorite. It doesn't have as nice graphics as 3 and 4 but it has the perfect difficulty. I love 3 and 4 but found 3 a little to easy and 4 a little to hard. I think I am the only person in the world who likes the above view levels in 2. ;)

I disagree 100%. While it isn't white hot like 4, its still an extremely, efficiently coded game. Less slowdown, with brighter colors than 4. The music is clean and melodic, and the sprites are often very large.
Worth getting.

It's nice, it's just my least favorite of the Genny TF games.
Yeah that's right
I prefer TF2 over TF3.
While there is more polish on 3, I just didn't have as much fun with it.
Hah! The author linked to our article on TF in the external link section, and he even mentioned the video we have of TF VI!
Respect!

As to liking part two the best: Wow. This is the first time I've encountered someone who prefers it.
You are not alone in expressing a liking to it though: TF II shmups thread (http://forum.shmups.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2812&highlight=diagram)

In my opinion TF3 is the best of the bunch.

My favorite two top view stages are the city level and the ancient city level. I love the level design on those two. It looks so neat to fly over futuristic cities and pyramids. Maybe it's because TF2 was a launch game and it was like the second or third game I bought for the Genesis I love it so much. But I keep coming back to it after all these years with a big smile on my face. It really does feel like an arcade game like the Sega 16 review says. I remember buying it and not believing you could get graphics that good on a home console.

You like Japanese games fine, but I only buy japanese editions of games if there are major changes. I collect american games first. And yes, I've played it and love it.
