My local (ok, not so local) Microplay has some Genesis baseball games. I bought half of them (Tommy Lasorda and Tony Larussa) and I can still get Triple Play 96 and Super Baseball 2020. I want to know if there are any other good ones. I know there's a feature, but it's still down. Any ideas?
Super Baseball rocks, and any World Series you can get is worth it.

Super Baseball is essentially an upgraded Tommy Lasorda. Triple Play is good but it was always hard for me to get entirely into it.
But to really grab some quality, addicting Genesis baseball, look online for World Series Baseball. It's cheap and easy to find. Just ignore '95.

See, I disagree. I think 95 is the best one. I say avoid the original. I havent played 98, but I assume its just like 95 with a roster update..A good early baseball game is Sports Talk Baseball, and thats probably my favorite baseball game.
Super Baseball 2020 is weird, but some people like it.
Just avoid the Hardball series and many many Player endorsed games. Big Hurt Baseball isnt bad, but I seem to remember it being a lot better than it plays for me today. I think that is the jist of the Genesis Baseball games. RBI is good, but not as good as Sports Talk or WSB.

Big Hurt Baseball is not worth your time. And the only reason I say to avoid '95 is the unskippable home-run trots. Seriously.
World Series Baseball: Fun because of the ability to have Norm Charlton hit a 4-hr game if you swing at the right time. It's fun for me personally because it's one of the only games to have a real look at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, so it's all about Cleveland for me.
'95: Improves glitches, picks up on the sound and graphics. Introduces the Home Run Derbys. BUT I HATE THE HOME RUN TROTS!
'96: Has Manny Ramirez on the cover. Fixed more problems with '95 and is a great overall package. Probably the best choice.
'98: Not bad at all, but has barely any improvement other than rosters. This is where things got stale and the look wasn't as fun as it once was.

Aw man, I wanted to come in and mention "Tommy Fucking Lasorda Baseball" and post the equally hilarious ad along with it. :(
"Big Hurt Baseball" was one of the most hyped 16-Bit baseball games I know of.........typical of Acclaim and their ads. WSB & TP also had a bit of a rivalry around 1995-1996 in their ads. I actually owned "Triple Play Gold" for a bit, and while the graphics were big and impressive and the presentation was nice, I just couldn't get into it, and neither could my then-friend, who partaked in the brief-but-memorable "Tommy Lasorda Baseball" fever that us and 2-3 others experienced during spring-summer of 2001. A copy of TLB was flung out of a second-story window (almost hitting some loiterers outside) in frustration during the fever (by me, in anger of the game's cheap A.I), and a friendship was almost fractured when the aforementioned friend (at the time) stormed out of my house in anger after getting absolutely SPANKED, with me scoring in the high '70's while he was at 0. The game eventually finished at 82-3, as one of his friends finished up.

Yeah, TLB has ridiculously cheap AI. I can't even hit anything. I think this is why 2 player was included...

General opinion states that World Series Baseball is pretty much the best one out there, based on overall game play and fun factor.

Difficult to argue with Sports Talk Baseball based solely on fun factor, whether it's against artificial intelligence or human competition. Conversely, World Series Baseball is a great game in it's own right. The graphics are second to none but the gameplay boarders on boring. Triple Play, Tecmo, Hardball, TL and all of the others are OK, just plain OK. Oh, please do not buy ESPN, I was tricked into thinking this was a good purchase with the music and pageantry leading up to the game but felt like I cheated by the end of the first inning.

Sports Talk Baseball is great! Tommy Fuckin' Lasorda sucks big time, WSB and WSB 95 are great, The Triple Play series is okay - but for the best experience, get acquainted with STB and WSB. Those are your best bets.
The Hardball series is mediocre to poor - RBI is okay, but its very repetitive and each year feels about the same. I like RBI - I own 93, 94 and 2. I rarely play them, but they are good and cheap. I find Super Baseball 2020 very confusing - but most people on here like it.
Lets see, what other games are there... Tommy LaRussa and TL 95 are okay, a lot of people pan them, but I think they are decent. Avoid the majority of the Player-sponsored games except for Big Hurt because they are all pretty pitiful. Even the Big Hurt game isnt that great.

Fool! There would never have been a "Sports Talk Baseball" if it wasn't for "Tommy Lasorda Baseball"!!!.............which owes its existence to "Reggie Jackson Baseball" on the Sega Master System...........which is derived from Sega's "League" series of Japanese baseball arcade games during the mid-to-late 1980's.
There's a long lineage of Sega baseball games, and they all paved the way for "Sports Talk Baseball", which I believe was the very last one until Sega of America shifted to "World Series Baseball" and Sega of Japan" started up the "Greatest Nine" series on the Saturn.
YEAH!!!!!!!!! :)

Okay, at least the sequel was WAY WAY better than Tommy Lasorda. I never said anything about it being successful. I bet it was teriffic at the time, but I picked it up about 1996 and just not getting it at all.
STB was the last Genesis In-House baseball game until WSB. SOA probably got giddy and spent money for the World Series license, and it probably did pretty well.
Has anyone played the 32X baseball games, WSB 95 and RBI 95? Those are probably the last 32X titles I am giddy about. Maybe Zaxxon.
By the way, I own a Master System now. Is Reggie Jackson Baseball any good? I remember looking at a sports game for SMS at Game Hits and remember it saying "Sega Sports Pad Required". I dont know what a Sega Sports Pad is. A whole new sports adventure is in front of me.

Last I recall, "Reggie Jackson Baseball" played like an earlier, crappier, MUCH slower version of "Tommy Lasorda Baseball".
32X WSB is essentially a prettied-up version of "World Series Baseball '95". Don't recall playing RBI for 32X.
(All of this was done on emulators BTW)
In a "Sega Sports" ad on my August 1995 issue of EGM, it showed that "Prime Time Football" was slated to come out on the 32X in the winter of 1995/1996. With the massive cancellation of 32X games that occured throughout 1995 however, this never happened.

Super Baseball 2020 is effin awesome. Its actually a port of a Neo Geo game and is more or less the cousin of Baseball Stars 2.
