I know loads of female gamers, and the majority of them prefer the retro stuff to modern gaming.

One thing i have noticed though, no offence intended to any female gamers that are reading this, is that female gamers tend to move the pad a lot whilst playing. For instance, if they want Sonic to jump they don't just press jump, they physically lift the pad upwards while pressing jump. Maybe its related to how women use there hands a lot whilst talking, who knows.

This is very common among less experienced gamers and has nothing to do with gender.
