Sailor Moon MegaDrive game

I really like this game alot. I'm hoping one day I'll have a converter for my Genesis, so I don't have to look for some Game Genie code or something, and I can just put the converter in, the cart on top of it, and let the converter do its magic. Anyway, this game is a side-scrolling arcade-like beat 'em up in the vein of Final Fight, Captain Commando, or one of Capcom's beat 'em ups. The game is lots of fun, especially if you're a fan of the show. And plus I just love to look at those Sailor gals, because all 5 of them are sexy. Especially Sailor Jupiter. RAWR.

I had to download a faq to find out how to do the special moves for each character since the manual was in Japanese. Speaking of special moves, I found the button presses to perform them kinda odd for a beat' em up. Why couldn't Ma-Ba (Bandai) just go the Streets of Rage 2/3 route and have you double tap left/right on the d-pad or just add a special attack button? Besides that little flaw (and the fact the game wasn't 2 players simultaneous), I really enjoyed the game.

I wonder if the dudes who made this game played the Bare Knuckle series a little bit too much. It begins with fighting on the street, followed by an elevator part. After the first boss there is a train level like in BKIII. The fighting animations are also very similar.

I find it funny that the live-action series that attempted to bring this series alive, was fucking awful.

I'm not talking about that planned Saban live-action show, but rather the one that was in Japan that aired like five years ago. Holy hell, that was five years ago? Seems like yesterday...

The graphics were good, but the control could have been tightened up some.

I have never had the pleasure of playing the Sailor Moon Mega Drive game, but I do know from experience that the Sailor Moon TV series was abject tosh!
Typical Japanese shite with their truly mediocre artwork and hideous animation.

It makes me wonder how people can stand that crap.

I have never watched Sailor Moon, but I own the game and played through it once - not bad, but somewhat repetitive; would it have been that hard to put in a few different enemies?

AAAAaaanyways: Never played the game, but I had a look at the video. And judging from the moves Sailor Moon displays here, it looks as if she just was bitch-slapping her opponents all way through.

I've seen the show (one DVD of it anyway) and.....I'll be generous by saying it wasn't my thing.
