Hi!
I just moved to the city and have had trouble finding a place which sells video games from the classic systems (Genesis, in particular). Most stores only seem to go as far back as PS1.
Don't know if there's anyone here from the city, but if there is, some tips as to where to go would be great.
Thanks!
Patrick
Welcome to the boards! Hope you stick around, as we have a great little community here.:)
I don't live in NY, but I know that Game Crazy sells some Genny stuff. Any of those in your area?

If you where in rochester, buffalo or syracuse, there's a store called Game Craze. It's a NY thing... it's a nice store, and most (95%) of loose genesis games are $2-$3, and they are three for ten.
And it's NOT related to Game Crazy, which is a shitty store.

Thanks for the welcome! I've actually been a regular reader of the site for awhile. (I had a Genesis as a teen and bought one again about a year ago), I just finally stuck my head out ;)
Thanks for the advice, as well! I checked and I do have a Game Crazy near me, but I can't seem to find a Game Craze (I live in Brooklyn and I tried googling it and just came up with the Syracuse store). It's too bad 'cause those sound like some great prices.
So I have two conflicting votes..is game crazy good or no? (or was there just some name confusion). So far all I've found are Ebgames and Gamestops, both of which suck for anything genesis.

Game Crazy is not the best, but its much better than EB and Gamestop.

Well I don't live in NY but I used to work there a LOT and for places that are not chain shops there are TONS.
About Brooklyn in those areas of streets filled with them chink shops (found just about anywhere and pardon the french) have tons of electronic dealy shops. These places usually have tons of old games and stuff.
Head upto the Bronx and the street selllers sometimes have some good stuff.
And in Queens I've been to a couple pawn shops and the sort that have ol' saturn games and a hand full of genny games per shop.
I liked NY for the abundance in places that sell games, but it's a hunters market. You have to go out for the thrill of treasure hunting, heading from shop to shop looking for little jewels here and there. When I worked there I'd just be driving down the road and see a place that I thought may have something... pull over on the side of the road and run in and do a quick scope of the area to see what they had. I drove tractor trailer so I didn't get a lot of time to do it, but what treasures I'd find in that short of time shows what they have to offer.
For your main stream crap just find an EB or Game Crazy or whatever you have in your area that is chain.
Proof of the charm those small shops have. I found a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga there for about 40 bucks. Here in FL I located a copy of DragonForce for 5 bucks. Amongst other treasures, but those are good examples as most people know the value those games go for.
